A swing and a miss for Gillibrand

I mentioned the other day that the Gillibrand campaign was betting big on Tuesday night’s CNN Presidential Town Hall.  The hope was Gillibrand’s moment in the spotlight would give her floundering campaign of cringe a much-needed boost.

Yup, Kirsten really hoped she would knock it out of the park Tuesday night.

And apparently, I wasn’t alone.

From Mediaite’s report:

Gillibrand’s town hall bagged a paltry 491,000 in total viewers and 115,000 in the advertiser coveted A25-54 demographic.

For some context: in the first quarter of 2019, CNN’s 10 p.m. host Don Lemon doubled those numbers: on average, he bagged 1.16 million total viewers and 361,000 in the demo.

Gillibrand’s town hall was also the lowest rated show on cable Tuesday night at 10 p.m. While less than half a million people watched Gillibrand, a whopping 2.5 million tuned in to watch Fox News host Laura Ingraham, while over on MSNBC Lawrence O’Donnell drew 1.9 million viewers.

I want someone to take the bullet and count the number of times Gillibrand used the word “brave” in this ratings dud.

I know I should feel sorry for her.

But I can’t help it.  This gives me a happy!

Nobody is clamoring for a Gillibrand White House run – except maybe Kirsten.

But let’s leave aside the fact that there is zero enthusiasm from voters for her Quixotic run for President. That’s bad enough.

This embarrassing ratings disaster is bad for the hapless New York Senator in another way.

The fact is, the news media view Presidential election politics through the prism of ratings. Given the abysmal ratings her town hall got, I doubt very much cable news outlets will waste their time on her from here on out.

And this may be mean to say, but I just love this! It couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.

I’ve said before that I fully expect Kirsten to pack it in and hit the bricks long before the Iowa Caucus.

But for selfish reasons, I hope she sticks it out. Because watching this sanctimonious, puffed-up lightweight make a fool of herself is all kinds of fun!

This pathetic clump of cells inherited the Hildebeast’s senate seat when she set out to suck up hundreds of millions in advance payments from foreign countries who were paying in advance for stuff from her when she ascended her rightful throne. Gilligan needs to stay in New York where the dems outnumber republicans 3-1 and be content making tons of illegal money from bribes and kickbacks.

She kissed up to the voters in upstate NY when she needed to, but now she dismisses them, just like Hillary. BTW, I seem to recall that when she was running for the senate, Newt backed her. Am I wrong on this?

What a complete waste of money.
And did she really put that softball vid on her announcement?
    Flaccid at best.

Thanks tons, woody! “Flaccid”. Word commonly used with erectile dysfunction. Now every time I see good old Gillibrand, I will naturally see “Dickhead Gillibrand”!!! 🤣 Yep, I have one of those weird working brains!
