America according to Jim Acosta

Jim Acosta

Boy, Jim Acosta is having a really bad couple of weeks.

The CNN White House correspondent isn’t getting the respect he believes he’s owed. And it’s making him all manner of upset.

It was bad enough that the President called him “Really Fake News” to his face.

But now Sean Spicer has the unmitigated gall to hold press briefings without cameras!

And that’s just like Nazi Germany!!!!

Who wants to be the one to let Jim Acosta know that the Clinton White House did the same thing?

And even worse, before the Golden Age of Television, there were no TV cameras at White House press conferences at all.

Yet Jim Acosta acts as if a Free Press can only exist when the cameras are rolling.

So Jim has decided his best course of action is to rudely interrupt and heckle the press secretary, then scamper off to whine about it to whichever bubble-headed bimbo news anchor CNN has on air.

What’s mind-boggling to me is Jim doesn’t understand why his rude interruptions and heckling have resulted in him not being called on.

But that’s not even the worst of it!

Not only is the White House refusing to placate his temper tantrums, they’re actually calling on conservative reporters instead!!!!

Can you imagine?!!! CONSERVATIVE REPORTERS!!!

And to add insult to injury, yesterday Sarah Huckabee Sanders mentioned Part One of Project Veritas’ report “American Pravda.”

(As an aside, anybody else notice that Sarah Huckabee Sanders sounds like Clarice Starling from “The Silence of the Lambs?”)

Well, that was the last straw for Jim Acosta. He was apoplectic with rage.

Apparently America according to Jim Acosta is a place where conservatives are not allowed to ask questions.

In Jim Acosta’s America the White House is not allowed to criticize the flagrant, unprofessional bias in today’s corporate news media.

Really, Jim?

I don’t know. But that does feel like America to me.

The First Amendment Freedom of the Press does not mean the “news media” is immune to criticism.

For heaven’s sake. In 1950, Harry Truman got so furious when a Washington Post critic trashed his daughter’s performance in a concert, he sent him an angry letter.

Among other things, Truman wrote, “Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you’ll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!”

Good thing Jim Acosta wasn’t around the White House in 1950. He would have soiled himself in outrage over Truman’s letter.

There is no clause in the First Amendment that protects the press from being “openly trashed.”

And you want to know why? Because “open trashing” is protected by the same First Amendment.

It isn’t as if Sarah Huckabee Sanders “openly trashed” the news media for no good reason.

Or does Jim Acosta not know that his network has been skewered by their own fake reporting?

Press Freedom does not inoculate you against being held to account.

But America according to Jim Acosta bears no resemblance to America according to the First Amendment.

Jim’s America is one where only people he perceives as “legitimate” (ie part of the corporate media) can ask questions of the White House Press Secretary.

And not only that, in Jim’s America “journalists” can only ask questions if cameras are rolling.

Well, if that were true, Jim, all your stories based on “unnamed, anonymous sources” would have to come to an end.

It doesn’t exactly surprise me that Jim Acosta is portraying himself as a Victim.

After all, that’s the go-to strategy of people on the Left.

But he isn’t a victim.

And neither is CNN.

Jim’s entire network is the aggressor – openly seeking to delegitimize and destroy the democratically-elected President.

To believe that such irresponsible, partisan advocacy is not allowed to be challenged is living in a fantasy land.

And it certainly isn’t the America I know.

Jim, it’s time for you to leave the press room. Please turn in your man-card on the way out and remember to stop by the restroom to change your tampon.
