Appeasing the mob only emboldens the mob

Mob

You know, when I saw that Jeff Flake announced that he would vote to move Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination out of committee, my first thought was, “He’s going to stab us in the back.”

You may say I’m cynical; and maybe I am.

But when it comes to Jeff Flake, it isn’t so much cynicism as it is familiarity with his startling lack of character.

I said a week ago that Flake is probably behind the Republicans’ willingness to delay this confirmation.

I don’t trust him.

And he has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain stabbing Republicans in the back by becoming the savior of the Democrats.

He’s a lame duck who is more than likely going to find himself a very lucrative career come January. And the more he sides with Democrats, the more lucrative that career will be.

I knew that YES vote out of committee would come with strings.

And, yes, Pinocchio, there were strings — placed there thanks to an angry mob.

Democrats are like hyenas. They’re ugly scavengers who are incredibly skilled at zeroing in on the weakest prey.

And Jeff Flake is incredibly weak.

All it took was one awkward moment in an elevator to break him.

But Flake’s inevitable betrayal comes with a terrible and far-reaching price.

Because when you appease a mob, you only embolden the mob.

And that right there is the unintended consequences of Jeff Flake’s cowardly appeasement.

The women who harassed him in that elevator are now being celebrated in the media.

They’re heroes don’t you know – heroes who have been “organizing” with the Women’s March for the past three weeks.

The feminist mob is now fired up to continue using harassment to get what they want.

Because, as they put it, “it works.”

That feckless idiot Kamala Harris decried the “tyranny of the majority.”

But that’s not at all what we’re seeing here.

We’re seeing the tyranny of the mob.

Yesterday in that elevator, Jeff Flake emboldened that tyranny.

The mob will not stop at shouting at someone in a confined space like an elevator.

Because the mob is never sated.

Ann Coulter wrote in her 2011 book Demonic:

Everything else changes, but mobs are always the same. A mob is an irrational, childlike, often violent organism that derives its energy from the group. Intoxicated by messianic goals, the promise of instant gratification, and adrenaline-pumping exhortations, mobs create mayhem, chaos and destruction, leaving a smoldering heap of wreckage for their leaders to climb to power.

And this:

Democrats activate mobs, depend on mobs, coddle mobs, publicize and celebrate mobs – they are the mob.

Is this not exactly what we’re seeing today?

Perhaps Flake hopes by placating this mob he will be spared.

But as Churchill once put it, “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last.”

Flake fed this mob; he won’t be spared.

Because nobody will be spared.

Not one Republican official will be safe.

And the never-sated mob won’t be satisfied with just attacking, harassing and intimidating elected officials.

No.

They always get around to attacking their fellow Americans.

And, as they have already shown, their confrontations won’t stop at words.

This is what Jeff Flake emboldened with his cowardly appeasement.

And like Vidkun Quisling before him, in the end, this appeasement of evil will be Jeff Flake’s only lasting legacy.

I don’t know about Jeff Flake’s conscience but he will now be a very, very, VERY wealthy person. Personally, I couldn’t live with myself after doing what he did.

When I heard Flake was on the judicial committee I cringed. Being that he is one of the four wavering votes for the Republicans, I worried that he would pull his idol McCain’s stunt of a last minute “thumbs down” as all eyes watch and torpedo this outstanding candidate. Sure enough, he is stringing us along on his yellow back road towards destroying the selection of a man who reveres our Constitution. He is a disgrace and a traitor to the AZ voters who entrusted him.

Kill the spirit and you’ll be blinded
And the end is always the same
Play with fire you burn your fingers
And lose your hold of the flame, oh
    It’s over, it’s done
    The end has begun
    If you listen to fools
    The mob rules

I would like to choke him.

As to the harrassment, if this country would simply enforce the law it would come to a screeching halt.

But witness we don’t enforce the law anymore or simple things like committee rules. Ask Grassley and DiFi.

He did vote to move him forward, but he’s an asshole wants to screw around as a big fuck you for not accepting him as a senator.
    Pathetic.

Rush was right. During the delay yesterday, he predicted Flake was up to something.

According to a NYT article from a few years ago that Levin read on his radio show last night, this isn’t Flake’s first rodeo being a backstabbing POS. When he was a congressman in AZ and running for the senate, his opponent was catching up to him in the polls (2% distance). That caused Flake to wrongly accuse his opponent of — what for it — sexual assault on a woman. The charge was totally false, but Flake got his way and won the election.

I e-mailed him last night and excoriated him. He is a snake, as evidenced by his tapping Chris Cooms on the shoulder when he left being accosted by the “survivors” in the elevator.

What the hell is wrong with the people of Arizona?

Ok, with senators like Flake, Corker, Collins, and Murkowski, the odds look very long. McConnell growing a spine and calling a vote does little good except to perhaps put Nelson, Heitkamp, Donnelly, and McCaskill on the spot. Which might not be a bad strategy. Letting this go until after the midterm lets them off the hook.

Besides, if BK is still around after the midterms, well, you know how Americans are – they’re going to want a new drama and he’s old news by then. So, he’ll either be scuttled or “forced” to withdraw anyway.

On the positive side, if GoP keeps the Senate, with Corker & Flake gone, the chances of DJT’s next nominee making it are much better. And we all know he has a good long list. In fact, if I remember rightly, Kavanaugh got a lukewarm response from conservatives when he was first announced.

OTOH, if Schumer takes over the Senate, DJT can just refuse to nominate. They’re not going to approve the ones he wants, and judges that Schumer would approve will be worse than a 4-4 Court. Besides, if RBG leaves the bench, then it’ll be 4-3 conservatives. Ostensibly. Hard to trust Roberts after his betrayal on ObamaCare.

Meanwhile Dianny, get your gardens tools sharpened. You’ll be spending a lot more time there. But, look on the bright side, you can win Yard of the Year next year.

Flakey Jeff has just finally come out of the prog closet. I’d rather have my enemies wearing a different uniform. Though they may squeal like pigs who see the knife, those who persecute the innocent will not escape justice. Like a coyote in a snare, the more they wiggle and fight, the tighter the noose gets. The big dog has the stick, the sound and fury signifies the ordnance on target. Battles and the War. God Bless us all, and DJT, cuz the train rolls on, cowcatchers next target, DiFi, Ford, and Flakey Jeff. Sleep well tonight, cuz the Patriots sit upon the wall, and none but the righteous may pass through unharmed.

Grassley missed his opportunity to say no to the hearing and lay the blame solely at Feinstein’s feet.
