The Barack Obama Show

I know Saturday mornings haven’t been the same since Melissa Harris-Perry left MSNBC. But thanks be to Allah, a new celebrity has stepped in to fill the void. This Saturday’s Presidential Weekly Address was more like the Barack Obama Show than it was a presidential weekly address.

This week, Barack welcomed special guest, hip hop artist Macklemore.

The Barack Obama show

Because nothing says “Chief Executive of the Federal Republic” quite like sharing the stage with a hip hop artist.

Barack and Macklemore discussed a very serious problem that apparently only the President can address: Addiction.

Ah, yes. When I think drug addiction, my first thought is, “Oh, where is Barack Obama to save us?!”

Maybe if he wasn’t busy sticking his Nosy Parker nose into the bathrooms of every public school in America, he’d have more time to use his Constitutionally limited power to deal with drug addiction.

The irony of the Barack Obama Show’s very special episode on addiction is just one day before telling Rutgers University Graduates that America, by almost every measure is better, Barack said this:

Drug overdoses now take more lives every year than traffic accidents. Deaths from opioid overdoses have tripled since 2000. A lot of the time, they’re from legal drugs prescribed by a doctor. So addiction doesn’t always start in some dark alley – it often starts in a medicine cabinet. In fact, a new study released this month found that 44 percent of Americans know someone who has been addicted to prescription pain killers.

So, by the measure of drug addiction, sounds like America isn’t better. It’s worse.

Macklemore was there to give us a human face — something Barack Obama just isn’t equipped to do — on the tragedy of addiction.

But neither Barack or hip hop artist Macklemore discussed why drug addiction and trafficking have become so widespread in the United States over the last eight years.

So, permit me.

Barack Obama refuses to enforce our border or our immigration laws. One of the consequences of that is drug cartels can now whiz right over our southern border and peddle their product with wild abandon.

Of course, if Obama had actually done his job (you know, the part of his job outlined in the Constitution, not his job as a Saturday morning talk show host), maybe we wouldn’t have such a problem with illicit drug use in America because the suppliers wouldn’t have such an easy peazy time getting into the country to begin with.

And since Barack isn’t exactly a genius when it comes to economic principles, he probably doesn’t understand the concept of “supply and demand.” You see, prescription drug abuse opened up a brand new market for drug gangs. They’re not just selling heroin and cocaine anymore. Now they’ve branched out into prescription drugs too. So, sure, it may not have started in some dark alley, but that’s where those drugs can be bought now.

It also probably doesn’t help that Barack is commuting the sentence of so many who are doing prison time for drug offenses. Sure, they may have been serving time for “possession,” but I’d wager that a good many of those were drug dealers who plead down to “possession.” Welcoming them back out on our streets is sure to fuel the already burgeoning drug market.

Of course DHS releasing thousands of criminal illegals rather than deporting them doesn’t help either.

As with most things, Big Government caused the problem and now Obama wants Big Government to solve the problem — no doubt by creating a whole passel of new problems in turn.

And Obama’s solution?

Investing in treatment. Ah, yes. Investing. That’s Obamaspeak for “the government confiscating more of your money and spending it like gang bangers on a weekend trip to Vegas.”

And special guest Macklemore was there to urge government to fund recovery programs by pulling on your heartstrings about his own tale of addiction and recovery. Speaking as someone who is sober for almost thirteen years because of Alcoholics Anonymous, I can tell you with absolute certainty, if AA were a government-sponsored program, it wouldn’t be helping nearly as many people as it is.

It would be more like the VA than AA.

Sorry to get personal, but Macklemore started it.

One drunk helping another has grown AA from a 2-man outfit to a worldwide program. It has been around for eighty years without government involvement. Actually, AA has been around that long because it wasn’t saddled with government involvement.

Chapter Two of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous “There is a Solution” does not state that the solution to the obsession and compulsion for drink is found in Government funding and Government programs. The “Power greater than ourselves” spoken of in AA is not the freaking Government.

But now you know why Obama invited a hip hop artist on the Barack Obama Show and not an expert in recovery. Macklemore isn’t going to say, “Government isn’t the solution to our problems; Government is the problem.”

Macklemore is going to do what Barack Obama wants him to do: urge for government funding.

You see, Government has a serious problem, my friends. And that problem is addiction.

Government is addicted to your money. It will use every manipulation it can think of to obtain it — including lying, stealing, playing on your emotions, invoking your sympathy. This very special episode of the Barack Obama Show was nothing more than an attempt to pull at your heartstrings, appeal to your desire to see a famous hip hop artist and tell you a weepy tale to separate you from your hard-earned money.

Addicts are great manipulators. And Obama is the Manipulator-in-Chief.

If Barack Obama really wanted to do something to stop the rampant drug problem in this country, he would do his freaking job — his actual job — and faithfully execute our immigration laws, secure our border, and deport those who enter the country illegally.

If Barack Obama really wanted to deal with the destruction the drug trade causes on low-income neighborhoods, he would stop releasing prisoners, prevent the Department of Homeland Security from releasing criminal illegals on an unsuspecting public, and get the hell out of the way of local police who are trying to keep those neighborhoods safe.

But he doesn’t want to do that. Does he?

He just wants more of your money.

He just wants another fix.

Ding, DiNG, DING! Spot On Again Dianny! Thank you for your truthfullness, and sobriety, on such an important topic. As Reagan said, “The Government is the problem.” Lil Barry is the epitome of that problem! But one has to remember that Lil Barry was voted into office TWICE by the seedier side of We the People, who were undoubtedly kept well informed by the traitorous slime in the main stream media and the commie ridden union driven public schools.
