Brace yourself: It was a Hoax

I know this is going to come as a complete surprise, folks. But the supposed Hate Crime against actor Jussie Smollett was a hoax.

[Insert shocked face here]

I know!

I’m so completely stunned by the news …

…Nope.  I can’t even pretend to be surprised.

Two men are being questioned in relation to the so-called “attack.”

And they’re a couple of white Trump supporters.

Hahahahaha!

Just kidding!

Actually, they’re black.

And apparently at least one of them worked on Smollett’s show “Empire.”

According to Rob Elgas of ABC7 in Chicago, multiple sources have told them that police suspect that Smollett staged the attack with the help of these two men.

Now I understand why Smollett only provided the police with redacted phone records.

I mean, if you’re going to choreograph a hoax attack with the help of a couple other guys, the last thing you want is for the police to follow up on those phone numbers.

And here I thought the reason he did that was to hide the fact that he wasn’t on the phone with his manager.

At this point, it appears more likely he was hiding the phone calls between him and his hoax crime supporting actors.

So, let me see if I have this straight.  He has time to get interviewed by Good Morning America to continue flogging this hoax.  But he didn’t have time to do an interview with detectives?

Wow.

Honestly, going on Good Morning America was a tremendously bad idea.

But skipping out on the interview with the police is even worse.

You’d have to be either deeply stupid or a sociopath to put your mug on national television over a hoax crime you staged with a couple of day players.

But then to be a no-show when the cops want to question you?

Good grief, that takes stones.

But I do want to thank Jussie Smollett.

Thanks to his staged hoax crime, he succeeded in getting a whole lot of people to take the bait and fall for it hook, line and sinker.

And not the least among them are three folks running for President of the United States.

And, let’s not forget everyone’s favorite nitwit:

Actually, genius. There’s no such thing as the attack.

Personally, I don’t want folks to sugar-coat the rise in hoax crimes myself.

But something tells me AOC and the rest of these gullible halfwits with trip all over themselves to not just sugar-coat but completely gloss over this latest in a long line of hoax crimes.

I’m thinking none of these folks will bother issuing a retraction.

The hate crime gets attention — so long as it makes Trump and his supporters look bad.

But the hoax crime? That will be quickly flushed down the memory hole.

It started off as kind of funny but now it’s a little infuriating. I have to say that the Democrat’s complete lack of self-awareness is insulting our intelligence.

    1) I hope they fry him on filing a false police report.
    2) Did he claim they recognized him? Otherwise, Miss AOC, how would they know he was gay so that this is a homophobic attack? Did AOC just assume his sexuality? Or assume that his “attackers” assumed his sexuality? Hell, in today’s democratic day and age, how could they even be sure he was a male, let alone a gay male? Did they ask him what he identified as before they slipped the noose around his neck?

Cory Booker: “Anti-Lynching bill designating lynching as a federal hate crime.”

No intention of insensitivity here to anything about lynching, and I could be missing something, but is Captain Obvious also a co-author of that bill?
