Cuomo Democrat Machine in a rage over spoiler Stephanie Miner

Rage against Miner

I told you a while back that the former mayor of Syracuse Stephanie Miner has tossed her hat in the ring for New York Governor.

But Miner isn’t running against Andrew Cuomo in the Democrat Primary.

Instead, she’s decided to launch an independent run.

When she first announced, I wrote:

Let’s face it. The former Minor Mayor isn’t going to peel votes away from a Republican in November.

She’s a Leftist Progressive in good standing.

So her Independent run will only siphon votes from Andrew “Thumb on the Scales” Cuomo.

And if the NYS GOP could get its head of out its own ass, it could make the most of that opportunity.

Well, apparently I’m not the only one who realized that Democrat Miner running against Cuomo in the general election will hurt the Democrats.

The New York Democrat Machine knows it as well. And they are not happy about it.

So what do Machine Democrats do when someone running for office hurts their preferred candidate?

Why, they lodge official protests of course.

According to, Mark English — the chairman of the Onondaga County Democratic Committee – has joined some downstate Democrats to challenge Miner’s independent candidacy.

In order to get on November’s ballot, Stephanie Miner needed to collect fifteen thousand signatures.

She submitted almost forty-one thousand.

In other words, they have to hope that at least twenty-six thousand of the forty-one thousand signatures are not valid in order to prevent Miner from launching an independent run against Andrew Cuomo.

“As chair of the Onondaga County Democratic Committee it is my job to protect and preserve the rights of our designated candidates under the election law,” English said in an email. “I, of course, strongly support the candidacy of our designee for governor, Andrew Cuomo.”

Well, that’s all well and good, Mr. English.

But that doesn’t mean you have the right to muscle every other candidate off the ballot just to clear the way for Andy. What’s wrong, honey? Don’t you think Cuomo can win in a fair fight?

None of this surprises me in the least.

The only thing that keeps Cuomo in office are two things:

First, the Republican Party in New York historically has the might and muscle of a neutered toy poodle.

And second, Cuomo controls the machine.

So if Andy gets a challenge from another Democrat, that could very well split the Democrat vote.

I don’t doubt that a lot of New York Democrats would love nothing more than to have someone other than Andrew Cuomo to vote for come November.

And if that happens, the Republican candidate – Marc Molinaro – could slip in and win this thing.

Suddenly I got a chill of excitement down my spine.

And that excitement is precisely why the Cuomo Machine is furious.

Trust me. The powers that be in the NY Democrat Party know that Stephanie Miner is a spoiler.

That’s why they’re challenging her.

Not for ethical reasons.

Not because of fraudulent signatures.

Stephanie Miner may very well help Andrew Cuomo lose.

And here in New York where the Cuomo Democrat Machine reigns supreme, that is not allowed.

Isn’t there really a 3 way split with Nixon (and who wouldn’t want another Nixon in office) running on her progressive agenda?

No. You’re confusing the primary in Sept with the general election.

Nixon is running against Cuomo in the primary. Miner isn’t primarying Cuomo. She’s running in the general as an independent. I think I said that.

It’s doubtful Nixon will defeat Cuomo. But even if she does, the not crazy Democrats will still flock to Miner over Nixon and still split the Democrat vote.

My mistake, I thought you had your primary already and Nixon was running as an independent

For some odd reason New York has two primaries. One for Congress and then one for the state. It’s odd. But there you go. Tho, I wouldn’t put it past Nixon to launch a run for Governor in the general if she loses next month.

My deepest condolences to the Miner family for the tragic automobile accident that will happen to Stephanie sometime in the next few weeks.

This is the exact same tactic Obama used to get elected senator. He also used the courts as well.

The best scenario would be Nixon running on the ‘working families’ party line, Miner on the independent and Cuomo as a democrat. Split the leftard vote 3 ways.
