Cuomo embraces the travel restrictions he once attacked

Say, remember when a few states tossed around the idea of imposing travel restrictions on anyone coming from the Wuhan Epicenter of New York?

Sure you do!

It was just a few months ago.

Then again, so much has happened in the last ninety days, maybe you don’t remember.

Rhode Island, fearful of fleeing New Yorkers packing up their bags and viral loads and bringing them east announced that any New Yorker entering Rhode Island would be quarantined for two weeks.

And, boy, did Governor Andrew Cuomo howl!

He was going to sue any state that dared to issue travel restrictions against New Yorkers!  Why, it was beyond the pale!!

Of course, states had reason to consider travel restrictions against Cuomo’s virulent state.  As we learned back in early May, a large percentage of nationwide outbreaks were seeded by travel from New York.

In fact, when President Trump suggested some travel restrictions on folks from New York’s hotspots, Cuomo sputtered with righteous indignation at the thought that his state would in any way be punished for his incompetent handling of the pandemic. He played the tough guy and let everyone know that he’d fight tooth and nail against such tactics.  And because he’s a gumped-up drama queen, he even called it a “federal declaration of war.”

Well, that was then.

Now, Cuomo has decreed that anyone traveling to New York from Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Texas or Utah will have to quarantine for fourteen days.

Is there anything Andrew Cuomo doesn’t flip-flop on when the shoe is on the other foot?

The only consistent thing about this showboating big-mouth is how utterly inconsistent he is.

And yet when you turn on the news, they’re still lauding this slime ball as some kind of heroic light bringer.  Nobody will dare challenge his about-face on travel restrictions now that the travel is going the other way.  Instead, they’ll swoon all over this clown like he’s the modern-day Churchill.

Honestly, as a resident of Upstate New York, the way the media fellates this guy makes me feel like I’m living in Upside-Down World.

Where do certain phrases come from? “Upstate New York”…”The South of France”…are just two that I find annoying. Northern New York and Southern France seem adequate to the purpose. How about “Upstate Illinois” or “The South of North Carolina”. See what I mean? Asking for a friend.

Upstate NY is very apt due to the fact that the entire state of NY above Westchester county cannot out vote the city and Long Island. We are essentially serfs who are living at the behest of the political elite in NYC who elect one of their own to Albany every 4 years.

You can say, ‘Just vote them out’ but we do not have the votes to do so.

There has been a movement afoot for many years to separate NY into two states. This would allow ‘Upstate’ autonomy where we have no say at all at present.

This is the origin story of Upstate NY….if you were to visit the city and then downtown small town upstate you would understand.

As an upstate resident as well, this would be hysterical if Cuomo were the governor of another state. Sadly, he is our dictator in chief and it is our state. Then again, I can say with almost 65 years of assurance that upstate has not felt that we are a part of the rest of the state New York in a very long time.

Cuomo is a chameleon and a Teflon don. Unlike conservative whites who are blamed for everything Cuomo is blamed for nothing. He is immune from criticism in the press.

The past 5 months have been a circus of errors on Cuomo’s part in his handling of the Covid19 epidemic and he has a lot of blood on his hands. It is more than apparent that regardless of where he was educated Cuomo is not very smart in any area other than political gamesmanship.

You have to wonder if he did not have all his family connections if he could get a real job anywhere? All of his decisions that turned out to be mistakes were not all that difficult as far as making the proper and best choices to save lives. Instead he blundered ahead making error after error, blaming everyone but himself for the problems and the only thing that saved him was the dedication and hard work of the professionals who were in the front lines fighting Covid19. Had these people not been so good at what they did, Cuomo would be looking and horrific totals of deaths.

So, the lightweight intellect in Albany managed to squeak by again……I have said this previously and will repeat it for clarity:

Just because your father was an eminent politician and governor does not mean you automatically have all the same tools he did.

Andrew, you are a moron. Accept it and move on.

Just watch 10 minutes of local news from any place in the country and it is apparent we’re all living in Upside-Down World.

I adore New York State and have taken many car-trips over the years. It is shockingly nice with great roads (compared to 3rd world Illinois) and beautiful scenery. I understand the frustration of living there. Illinois has been ruined by Democrats and is in a financial death-spiral. I believe it will be the first State to file for bankruptcy. Leftists DESTROY everything they touch.
