“Defund the Police” say wealthy celebrities with private security

For years I’ve been talking about the Left’s habit of advocating a cause that ultimately backfires on them because of their habit of pushing too hard and too far.  I call it Operation Backfire.  Whatever their cause, it blows up in their face like a trick cigar because they just can’t help going too far.  Case in point, these imbeciles took a universally-agreed upon cause — “Justice for George Floyd” – and pushed it to the extreme – namely “Defund the Police.” And they did it in just one week.

Yeah, they’re actually demanding that municipalities “defund the police.”

Before you say, “But no sane government would do anything so stupid,” both Minneapolis and Los Angeles are actually considering it.

On Sunday the nitwits at the New York Times published an “opinion” piece co-written by a Yale doctoral candidate and a “strategist” for “Movement for Black Lives” demanding that police departments be defunded. Because everybody knows that social workers have the power to stop bullets.

Then there’s the former spokesman for Obama’s Department of Justice (and the Hillary campaign):

Which puts him in line with the Democratic Socialists of America:

And of course, this “Defund the Police” movement is also supported by wealthy celebrities.  They are proudly signing on to a petition demanding your neighborhood become unprotected.

Included among these celebrities are Hanoi Jane Fonda, Natalie Portman, Lizzo, Jussie Smollet’s sister Jurnee, obnoxious soccer “star” Megan Rapinoe, the insufferable John Legend, and Jussie Smollet’s former co-star Taraji Henson.

Oh, and if that’s not bad enough, San Francisco’s District Attorney Chesa Boudin has also signed the petition. “Top law enforcement official” my ass.

Not to mention phony black guy Shaun King.

As a side note, I wonder how many of the suburban busybodies who, just two months ago were calling 911 to rat on their non-social-distancing neighbors, think “Defund the Police” is a great way to “Defend Black Lives.” Come on, you know some of them are hopping on board the bandwagon for no other reason than they saw John Legend on “The View” and they think he’s cute as a bug.

As it is, I’m sure many of them are cluelessly using the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag — completely unaware that BLM has been advocating the “de-policing” of communities for years.

In fact, I did a post about it back in the fall of 2016.

But these wealthy celebrities who’ve hopped aboard the SS Defund the Police have nothing to fear from a lack of police presence, do they?

You think John Legend will be in any way inconvenience by such a stupid policy?  Or Jane Fonda? Or Natalie Portman?  I’m sure their tony enclaves and gated communities can easily afford to hire private security. It isn’t as if they’re going to be stuck calling a “crisis response social worker” to “mediate” criminal activity.

If Minneapolis or LA actually follow through with this, it won’t be the wealthy enclaves that get screwed. Instead, the very same neighborhoods that just got burnt to a cinder in these riots will be the ones sacrificed on the altar of celebrity virtue-signaling.

And since both Black Lives Matter and these nitwit celebrities also want to stop “gun violence” by banning guns, one can only conclude that their hope is to ensure that these communities are not only unprotected, but also incapable of protecting themselves.

Now, normal people with functioning brains (and who don’t watch “The View”) think “Defund the Police” is flat-out insane.

A large majority of Americans approve of the job their local police are doing. So demanding that police protection be stripped from their neighborhoods isn’t going to go over well.

Which is exactly why “Defund the Police” is the perfect example of Operation Backfire.

said the other day that after the in-custody death of George Floyd, Americans from every political spectrum and walk of life were united in their horror over the manner of his death.  There was no schism, none.  But then the rioting began. And, as I put it the other day, “that moment of unity collapsed under the weight of beaten bodies, murdered Americans and mindless chaos.”

Calling to “Defund the Police” after we all got a front-row seat to the chaos is pushing too hard and too far. And there will be righteously angry pushback.

But see, that’s the best part of Operation Backfire.

It pulls back the curtain and exposes these people for the extremists they really are.  Since they can’t help pushing too hard and too far, even Americans who may have been somnambulantly going through life unawares suddenly wake up and realize, “Holy crap, these people are crazy and dangerous!”

You might be thinking, “Dianny, quiet!  If you give away how Operation Backfire screws them, they might stop doing it!”

But don’t worry.  They’ll never stop because they can’t stop.  These fools are too self-absorbed, too out of touch, and generally too stupid and arrogant to realize they are their own worst enemy.

The radicals believed that this brief, fleeting national unity over the death of George Floyd meant they had the momentum to upend our civil society and destroy law and order.  And in the end, as they usually do, they completely misread their audience.

The American people by and large believe in law and order.  We want safety and security.  We seek a peaceful, civil society.  And we see law enforcement as integral to all of that.

Even the folks who foolishly dropped to their knees and professed their white guilt are going to balk at the idea of “de-policing” their neighborhoods.

And because these pampered, wealthy celebrities are completely out of touch with us normal Americans, they blundered along without a moment’s hesitation — all the while believing the time was ripe for “Defund the Police.”

Yeah, the time ain’t ripe, you morons. After a week of violent chaos that turned cities into lawless, ungovernable shitholes, Americans aren’t keen on the idea of making all that chaos permanent by defunding our blue line of defense.

But keep tweeting your support from within your well-defended estates, you celebrity fools. Your constant clueless bleating only further fuels the pushback that’s building.

While it’s true celebs have security, it’s also true that they don’t have an army.
antifa and blm won’t come see them one by one, but as a mob. A few security guards in golf carts is no match. Can you imagine?

golf cart 1 [to 2 and 3]: They’re over the walls! I need help. Who has the gun?
golf cart 3: Golf cart 2 has it. But he’s off this week.

    lol.

Most of them had exSEALS as security. Not Rangers in golf carts. Real killers!

It’d be an interesting beta test if Los Angeles actually did defund their police.
Sane residents of Minneapolis, LA and other Democrat run cities are forewarned.

The Boston police strike of 1919 left a major metropolitan area without police protection. The NYT called it “Boston’s essay in Bolshevism.” Even President Wilson, a “progressive,” described the situation as “leaving the city at the mercy of an army of thugs.”

A consequence of defunding the police will be the establishment of anti-Constitution Sharia Law in many cities. Who will need to travel to Europe when NYC and Minneapolis and Los Angeles, etc., will all offer the same No-Go Zones and terrorist breeding grounds as found in Paris, Stockholm, etc.

Geez, libs. You don’t need to defund the po po. Just give them the next 72 hours off with NO pay and see how that works out !
Actually, I’d love to see the officers of the NYPD and the LAPD and the Seattle PD and the Portland PD and the Baltimore PD and the Washington DC PD simply NOT show up for their shifts this weekend!! It would be glorious to see the Mayors begging them to come back !!!
    Amiright??

If enough people stop funding “celebrities” they will not have an endless source of $$ to pay for private security. Then they will be on the same social level as we deplorables.

Here is video of the police in Buffalo knocking down an elderly white man. I’ll bet we hear nothing but crickets since it’s a white guy.

Remember back in the sixties when the hippies were all against the police? Remember the slogan from the pro police people? “If you need a cop, call a hippie!”.

John Legend and his botoxed, puffed up doofus of a wife both think they are people we should “admire”. Not in my life.

To call these posers morons is an insult to real morons. They hire people to tell them “what they think” about issues. They need to hire different people. They are insecure, ignorant, stupid jerks. And those are the good ones! I despair…

true enough the first communities to be impacted will be the poor ones. but eventually, those communities will picked clean, and completely burned out. THEN the fun starts. do these virtue signaling morons believe their minimum wage barney fifes in golf carts are going to stick around and defend them from a thousand rabid gang bangers looking for something to do on Wednesday night? I almost feel bad for them
