Democrats really suck at optics

You’d think since all the Democrats have are phony narratives and breathless talking points they would be really good at optics.

But they’re not.

In fact, they really suck at optics.

And a government shutdown where each side has to successfully make the case that they are the ones who are on the side of the angels is one of those times when optics can really make a difference.

Sadly for the Democrats, their side is bungling it big time.

That was abundantly obvious Tuesday night when the Plywood Cutouts Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer stood woodenly side-by-side behind that too-small podium.

It wasn’t a good look.

And rather than be remembered for the arguments they made, Chuck and Nancy’s inept “Democrat Response” will be remembered for the memes it generated.

After that disastrous nationally televised face-plant, I am rather surprised that the Democrats didn’t learn from their mistake.

Instead, they’ve doubled down on bad optics.

President Trump, meanwhile, is winning the optics on the shutdown.

First, he flew to the Southern Border and met with members of the border patrol.

Then Trump came back and continued making the case for the construction of a barrier on the border.

Saturday the President was in the White House ready and willing to negotiate with the Democrats.

And where were these Democrats who are so terribly worried about the furloughed Federal workers?

Well, about thirty of them were enjoying the sun and sand of Puerto Rico while meeting with lobbyists and Broadway celebrities.

Yeah. Senator Menendez seems really concerned about those poor furloughed workers, doesn’t he?

First Nancy Pelosi rings in the start of the shutdown by jetting to a posh, exclusive resort in Hawaii.

And now the Democrats are frolicking on the beaches of PR.

Not good PR if you get my meaning.

All that was missing was Ana Navarro sitting in a beach chair filing her nails.

Sure, the Democrats are enjoying the beaches of Puerto Rico while ostensibly holding meetings about the hurricane recovery.

But the hurricane was over a year ago.

And they choose now – during the longest government shutdown in history – to go there?

No matter how you slice it, the optics aren’t good.

The Democrats are basically telling both the American people concerned about border security and the furloughed federal employees, “pound sand, guys!  Surf’s up!”

It’s almost as if the Democrats really don’t give a crap about those poor federal employees being “held hostage” by the Shutdown.

Chuck and Nancy played this all wrong.

And while they frolic in the Caribbean sun, President Trump is back in Washington winning the narrative.

Hell, even the news media know that Trump is winning the Shutdown Narrative.

Which is why they’ve pivoted back to Russia.

The fact is, Nancy Pelosi has boxed the Democrats in so badly there really is no way for them to score a win here.

And the longer the Democrats avoid negotiating with the President and Congressional Republicans, the more they own this shutdown.

Add to that their inept handling of optics, and no matter how you slice it, there is no way for the Democrats to win this.

What’s more infuriating are the people who continue to vote for the Democrats despite it being blatantly obvious that they don’t really give a crap about anybody.

It should be perfectly clear by now that the Dems don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves. Voters need to stop falling for fake virtue signaling.

From their ‘hostage video’ rebuttal to President Trump’s message to the blatant apathy they illustrate towards the issue of border safety in terms of American lives, Chuck and Nancy have paved the road for Trump’s second term.

The actions or rather, the lack of action, on the part of the democrats will be the worst optic in the world as we roll into elections 2020. You cannot hide from your poor choices and especially so if they are caught on media. From Hawaii to Puerto Rico the visuals of democrats sitting idly by while the government shutdown rolls on for no other reason than democrats refuse to come to the table with a sincere attitude.

I hope Trump holds out even if this rolls into July!!!!

There is very little the US Constitution requires of Congress each year. Passing a budget is one of them. It does not say “balanced”… Yet, we have not had a budget since G W Bush !! These CS or CR (continuous spending or resolution) are not a budget.

Why do we pay for a Congress that does not do their basic job ? Use the savings from these “NON Essential” Federal functions to fund the WALL, build it tall.
