Drunk Lemon explains CNN’s 2020 plan: Lose even more audience

Drunk Lemon

Breitbart reported yesterday that in an interview with Variety, CNN personality Don Drunk Lemon gave a peek into the floundering news network’s plans for the 2020 election season.

“There will be no rallies that run in real time,” Lemon told Variety. “There will not be so much space for candidates to let them ramble on.”

Yes, if anybody would know about rambling on, it’s Drunk Lemon.

“The American people will demand that.”

Really?

Drunk Lemon knows what the American people will be demanding in 2020?

Did it come to him in a vodka-soaked dream?

Something tells me the likelihood that CNN sticks to this come 2020 is rather slim.

Sure, they might avoid airing Trump’s rallies in real time.

But let’s say Kamala Harris is the Democrat nominee.

Do you see CNN choosing not to air her campaign events in real time?

Yeah. Me neither.

Or, if Jeff Flake and John Kasich decide to launch primary challenges to the President, do you see CNN ignoring those campaign appearances?

Who believes that?

Honey, they would air them if it was John Kasich talking to sixteen people at a Grange Hall somewhere in New Hampshire.

The bottom line is this. Trump’s campaign events are must-see TV. And if CNN sticks with this plan, all they’ll manage to do is lose even more audience.

Come on, you don’t need to be psychic to figure that one out.

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say one reason CNN doesn’t want to broadcast Trump rallies live and unfiltered is because it makes it difficult for them to spin what he actually would say into an inflammatory accusation.

Plus, he does tend to hammer the hell out of them during these things, doesn’t he?

And let’s be honest. The reason for CNN airing all of Trump’s rallies in 2016 totally backfired on them.

Here CNN thought broadcasting Trump raw and unfiltered would so turn off voters that he’d go down in a humiliating defeat.

But the opposite happened.

And that’s part of the reason I doubt Drunk Lemon’s sincerity here.

They won’t refuse to run every candidate – just Trump.

But of course Lemon can’t say that. After all, admitting this new plan only applies to the President would be admitting the network’s agenda-driven bias.

But let CNN refuse to air Trump’s rallies.

The decision would backfire on them in a big way.

This isn’t 1992. And CNN hasn’t been the only game in town in a generation.

With Internet livestreaming not to mention other cable news channels, CNN’s decision won’t hurt Trump one bit.

But it sure as hell will hurt them.

They tried to make me go to rehab
    I said, no, no, no
    Yes, I been black
But when I come back, you’ll know, know, know
    I ain’t got the time
And if my daddy thinks I’m fine
He’s tried to make me go to rehab
    I won’t go, go, go.

The media is per-occupied with picking winners and losers at the behest of their gillionaire handers like Convicted Felon and Nazi Sympathizer George Soros. Their ratings could go into the sewer and out to sea and they will still be there pumping out their vitriol.

The low ratings will not be because another outlet has their audience. It will be that people stop tuning in to anything in the news circus. Expect direct streaming from Trump and other candidates in the next major election.
