Et Too, Newt?

Ugh. Can somebody please send Newt Gingrich a copy of Thomas Sowell’s Basic Economics?

In an effort to slam Hillary Clinton for saying that she would utilize her husband Bill to revitalize the economy, alleged Republican Newt Gingrich, appearing on Fox Business, said this:

This is all nonsense. I mean. The President of the United States has an actual job to get … create jobs, create take-home pay, create wealth. Ah … that’s Hillary’s job if she wants to be President. Uh … it’s not the first spouse’s job.

So taken was he with this ignorant insight into the Free Market, Newt even tweeted it out.

Dear Lord.

When you can’t even count on an alleged Republican to comprehend that the President does not create jobs, take-home pay and wealth, we are really, really screwed.

Hey, Newt! The Free Market Economy creates jobs, not the President. The Free Market Economy creates take-home pay, not the President. The Free Market Economy creates wealth, not the President.

The best thing a President can do for our Free Market economy is get the ever-loving government the hell out of its way!

Sheesh. The work. Should anyone really have to explain this to Newt Gingrich?

The only thing he said in this clip that I agree with is, “This is all nonsense.”

It is nonsense to believe a President’s job is to do anything to grow our economy.

It is government involvement in our economy that kills jobs, stifles take-home pay and destroys wealth.

Regulations, taxes, cronyism. All of this impede economic growth.

The Free Market by its design is intended to grow. The reason our economy hasn’t been growing is because the Federal Government — namely the Executive Branch and it’s many bureaucracies — have been preventing it from doing what comes naturally. The EPA, the Department of Labor, Obamacare, every stupid regulation, government subsidies choosing winner and losers, forced minimum wages — all of this stifles the Free Market Economy. And where do all these regulations come from? Government.

It isn’t that Hillary wants to put her husband in charge of economic growth that’s the problem, Newt. It’s the fact than anyone in Government thinks that the President or the Executive branch should have any hand in our economy at all that’s the problem.

And apparently, among those ignoramuses who think this is one Newton Leroy Gingrich.

The president’s “job,” Newt is to faithfully execute the office of President and to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. He is to be the Commander-in-Chief of the military. He is, with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to negotiate treaties, appoint public ministers, consuls, ambassadors and judges.

That’s it. That’s all there is. It is not the President’s job to create wealth, economic prosperity or jobs for the people.

And all this time, I assumed Newt Gingrich knew that.

I guess I’ll mark this down in the “boy, was I wrong” column.

They believe that we are simply not smart enough to catch them in thier lies and deceptive ways. They are so full of thier own crap. They are lost in the glow of thier self-importance. When they see a news camera w/ bright lights the “glory-whore gene” takes over. Thier eyes roll back, they salivate, and pontificate, putrid platitudes of odorous fecal matter. Too many of We the People are sucked into thier spheres of influence through the big screen magic boxes in our homes. We need to turn off the tubes, and turn on our critical thinking skills. All of these talking heads are of the same cloth. They endlessly sell thier souls for a 5 minute slot in the limelight. WAKE THE FLOCK UP, AMERICA!

Once again Dianny you have said it well. Spot on!
