Greenfield on Trump’s 5 Rules for Ruling the World

Greenfield column 5 rules

I just read what has got to be the simplest, clearest and most spot-on summation of the method behind Trump’s success.

And it shouldn’t surprise you that it comes from Daniel Greenfield.

I always love what Greenfield writes. And this latest column Trump’s 5 Rules for Ruling the World is no exception.

It’s 2018. And after spilling several small rivers of black ink (digital and virtual) analyzing, smearing, belaboring, insulting and fact checking President Trump, the media still doesn’t understand him.

That’s not surprising. The media has been writing about America for much longer than that and has even less of a clue about how people live outside its preciously hip urban and suburban bubbles.

But there are 5 simple rules for understanding President Trump. They define how he’s lived his life until now. And what still drives him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. If you understand them, you will get what he’s doing. If you don’t, there’s always a job waiting at the New York Times.

Greenfield boils down Trump’s method to these five rules:
1. Act, Don’t React
2. Try Everything
3. Chaos is Power
4. Never Show Your Hand
5. Don’t be Afraid to be the Bad Guy

Take a few minutes to read through his column.

The explanations and examples Greenfield provides are spot-on.

And his conclusion says it best:

The media shouts that Trump is isolated. If he were isolated, the world wouldn’t be revolving around him. The world doesn’t stop when Putin or China’s Jinping issue a statement. But a single Trump tweet can upend the priorities of international diplomacy for days, weeks and even months.

Trump isn’t reacting to the world. The world is reacting to him.

And as long as he can keep the world reacting to him, he’s the one setting the agenda for the world.

Damn that’s good.

But definitely read the entire column HERE.

It’s worth it.

Whatever President Trumps’ ideas were as a businessman, imo, have evolved into being a great Patriot and Statesman. While I have always viewed him as a man with a huge ego, I truly feel he is working at what is good for America, rather than his personal gain. How in the world is he benefitting himself by being the target of every dark and ignorant force on the globe? Surely he could simply stay in the private sector, and simply bribe these hoods for what he wants? Of course the cynical destroyers see wrongdoing in his every move, but do they see ANYTHING as it truly is? I feel kind of bad for them, though. Likely true Americans will count 45 the same kind of hero as Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan. MAGA

    5. Don’t be Afraid to be the Bad Guy.

That’s a bold change from, ‘Be the same’. Thank goodness.

A friend here added his own text over that great photo of Trump sitting down at the G-7 meeting with Merkel hanging over him screeching and the Japanese PM standing right there. He has the Japanese PM saying to Merkel, “The last time we let you drag us into something, we got nuked.”

    Very funny.
