Hillary wasn’t cheated; she was humiliated

There’s an episode of “Mad Men” where the folks at SCDP are instructed to read the book “The Chrysanthemum and the Sword” in preparation for meeting with the Japanese motorcycle company Honda.

Don Draper finds a passage that he reads to his colleagues.

“A man is shamed by being openly ridiculed and rejected. It requires an audience.”

To me, this sums up Hillary Clinton to a tee.

Hillary’s anger and resentment has nothing to do with being cheated.

Not at all.

Hillary was publicly humiliated.

In a big, BIG way.

As I pointed out on Sunday, during her interview with Jane Pauley, Hillary came out and admitted that she didn’t bother writing a concession speech.

She was certain she would win.

And in the same interview, Hillary took Pauley on a little tour of the house next door. The house she purchased for White House staff for when “President Hillary” left DC for her compound in Chappaqua.

From the Free Beacon

“You specifically bought this house for a reason,” Pauley said as they walked outside.
“I did,” Clinton said.
“And this was to be?” Pauley asked.
“Well, I know a lot about what it takes to move a president, and I thought I was going to win,” Clinton said.
“The Clintons had acquired the house next door to accommodate White House staff and security during a second Clinton administration,” Pauley narrated.

“And I thought I was going to win.”

This momentary lapse into honesty sticks out like a sore thumb mostly because we’re so used to Hillary’s lies.

And it’s bound to happen when you are being interviewed by someone who is as forlorn over your loss as you are.

Hillary assumed victory was hers.

And in so admitting it, she exposed a lie she told earlier this spring.

Back in May while appearing at the Recode tech conference, Hillary said this [hat tip Politico]:

I was the victim of a very broad assumption that I was going to win.

But who had this “very broad assumption,” Hillary?

What did you tell Jane Pauley? “And I thought I was going to win.”

Call me crazy. But it sounds to me like you weren’t the “victim” of this “very broad assumption” that you would win.

Instead, you were the perpetrator of it.

You bought a compound in Chappaqua for White House staff.

You didn’t bother campaigning in the Rust Belt.

And you didn’t bother preparing a concession speech.

If anybody created an air of inevitability around you, it was you, Hillary.

And see, this in a nutshell is why Hillary is so angry.

It isn’t because she was cheated.

And it has nothing to do with Russia or Comey or white people or misogyny or Bernie Sanders or any of the other sixty-thousand things she’s blamed.

Hillary Clinton feels like a right fool.

The fact is, she was utterly humiliated on the world stage.

It was bad enough that her lecherous husband humiliated her for decades.

But to have her moment of glorious triumph sputter out like a wet fart?

Honey, that must sting.

And she has nobody to blame but herself.

Hillary Clinton was so cock-sure that she was headed to the White House that Trump’s victory not only blindsided her. It publicly disgraced her.

But at the end of the day, Hillary Clinton is still the arrogant, entitled woman she’s always been.

So instead of simply slinking away and retiring to a quiet life, she insists on airing her humiliation to a worldwide audience.

And her anger and resentment have made her sloppy.

She is getting ensnared in her own web of lies.

Rather than covering up her humiliation, Hillary is laying it bare for the world to see.

And this decision to publicly air her anger and shame is only making it worse – worse for her and far worse for the Democrat Party.

This is why Democrats aren’t so thrilled with her decision to publish this book.

And it’s why they’re wishing Hillary just stayed in the woods.

But she can’t.

Her overweening lust for power coupled with her battered and humiliated ego just won’t let her.
