When the President announced the targeted air strikes in Syria, it set off competing conspiracy theories.
First, you had the “It’s a False Flag!” contingent.
From what I can glean, these guys are advancing the theory that globalist neo-cons in the Deep State are blackmailing Donald Trump to let them control his foreign policy. And one way they’re doing that is by providing chemical weapons to terrorists who then launch the attacks while making it look like Assad is doing it. All to drag Donald Trump into another endless war in the Middle East.
At least I think that’s the idea. Either that, or these guys are pitching a storyline for the next reboot of “24.”
Then you have the news media.
They are breathlessly declaring that Trump is using these air strikes to distract from his alleged “domestic scandals.”
After all, according to them, Trump is on the verge of being ousted. And Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen and James Comey’s book have him so frightened, he decided to get France and the UK to join him in bombing Assad’s chemical weapons facilities to distract from his impending impeachment.
It is true Trump may have ordered strikes against Syria to distract attention from Comey book & Cohen investigation
It is true Assad is committing genocide. The international community cannot, must not allow him to kill Syrians ppl w/impunity
The two, are not mutually exclusive

Yeah. That’s not in any way insane.
There’s something ironic about a news media that has been peddling distractions complaining about distractions.
Let’s face it, distractions have been their bread and butter since Donald Trump became President of the United States.
Given their logic here, isn’t it fair to say that focusing on James Comey’s book is a way to distract the public from the damning IG report on Andrew McCabe?
Isn’t focusing like a laser on Stormy Daniels a good way to distract the public from a booming US economy, increasing wages and decreasing unemployment?
Who’s really be peddling distractions here?
It sounds to me like a case of projection – the news media accusing the President of the very thing they do on a daily basis.
In order to take focus away from President Trump’s successes, they zero in on nonsensical rumors, leaks from “anonymous” sources, and tabloid-level stories.
For Pete’s sake, the entire RussiaGate was a coordinated distraction.
But be proud American news media.
You’re peddling the same nonsense as Al Jazeera.

Let’s be honest. The news media will portray President Trump simply doing his job as nothing but “distractions.”
If Trump signs a bill into law – it’s a distraction.
If he gives a speech on the opioid crisis – it’s a distraction.
Meeting with a world leader? Distraction!
Is it any wonder they would try to paint a multi-nation strike against Syria as nothing but a distraction?
What really gets their goat is President Trump isn’t letting their constant attempts to frame the narrative get in the way of him doing his job.
The news media hasn’t exactly been subtle, you know. We can clearly see what their objective has been all along: completely hamstring the President so he is ineffective and unable to carry out his duties.
And despite everything they’ve tried, like the Energizer bunny, President Trump just keeps doing his job.
You’d think by now they’d realize that all the go-to strategies they use to undermine a Republican president don’t work on Donald Trump.
But the news media is far too in love with the sound of its own voice to notice that nobody is falling for their schtick.
They are the ones tossing out distractions in hopes of throwing Donald Trump off his game.
It’s childish, petty and completely unprofessional.
fan or not of air strikes – england & france led the cause & I doubt their desire was to push scandals off our front pages. & its great to see those people calling Trump a Putin lackey now shifting to that narrative of distraction when US smacks Putin's proxy hard.

In fact, the talk of distractions is, in itself, a distraction.
It is the news media’s way of saying, “Don’t look over there! Look over here!!!! Look at what stories we think are important!!!”
And what is that but the media attempting to distract us?
You would have to be complete nitwit to think that President Trump would order air strikes on Syrian chemical weapons facilities to distract from James Comey’s book.
The fact is, President Trump seems to be taking a great deal of pleasure in dragging Slimeball Comey over the coals.
Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe. In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job. Slimeball!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 15, 2018
The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 15, 2018
No, this isn’t about distractions.
It’s about the news media’s desperate attempt to control the narrative.
They want to call the shots on what is “newsworthy.”
But President Trump won’t let them get away with their childish distractions.
And the harder they try to out-maneuver him, the more ridiculous and outlandish their distractions become.
