I know a lot of you were concerned about the praise coming from John McCain and Lindsey Graham over Trump’s actions in Syria.
And I told you I suspected in the end, John and Lindsey were going to be disappointed.
Remember how excited and eager they both were on Friday? They were smiling broadly and praising President Trump. And, of course, they were framing the strike as only the beginning.
I shared with you the video from John McCain’s interview on Fox Friday morning. And the guy was grinning from ear-to-ear like a Cheshire cat.
But that’s hardly a surprise.
After all, for four years, both McCain and Graham have been frantically beating the war drums like they were Gene Krupa hopped up on meth.
So Thursday’s missile strike got them all kinds of excited. And that excitement was as plain as the smiles on their faces.
I know you guys were concerned. Frankly, who could can blame you?
And yet something must have changed.
Because by yesterday, John McCain wasn’t smiling anymore.
John was on “Face the Nation” yesterday morning. And his face looked forlorn.
What really got McCain’s knickers in a twist was Secretary of State Rex Tillerson saying Bashar al Assad’s fate is in the hands of the Syrian people.
Well, that’s certainly not what John McCain wants to hear!
Go ahead and watch the segment yourself. I think you’ll see what I mean.
John looks like someone slapped that smile off his face with a dead carp.
I know a lot of you are worried that President Trump is about to drag us into war in Syria.
But seeing that frown on John McCain’s face should encourage you.
