Lord Conyers, the Earl of Detroit, bequeaths his peerage to his son

Lord Conyers

Well, if there was any question as to whether John Conyers thinks of his elected office as an Earldom, there isn’t anymore.

Today Lord Conyers announced that he would not run for reelection. Instead, he endorsed his son — the Viscount of Motor City — to replace him.

Aren’t you glad we had a revolution to get rid of a royal aristocracy?

Lord Conyers doesn’t see himself as a citizen legislator or a temporary politician.

But that’s hardly a surprise. The man has been in Congress for more than half a century.

This is not in any way what our Founders intended. If it were, why bother getting out from under England?

And by presuming that he can pass his title down to his son like it’s his own peerage, Lord Conyers is revealing his own nauseating hubris.

But you see what’s going on here, don’t you?

Lord Conyers doesn’t want to give up the cushy life that comes with being a permanent member of the political aristocracy.

And now he won’t have to.

He and his family will continue to live large off of the Federal Government – and by extension the American taxpayer.

This kind of stuff absolutely sickens me.

Lord Conyers really does believe that he and his family are entitled to hold this seat for as long as they choose.

And what’s truly pathetic is the serfs in Detroit will happily play along with his sense of entitlement.

Yeah. Initially word was both his son and grand nephew were possibly running. Keeping the entitlement in the family.

I was only listening because I was driving to get a few Double Double Animal Styles. I do not listen at home. I am aware cbs has been the King of fake news for 60 years. But in the car it is them or talk about what a fearless man Colin is! Choices are either awful or worse!

Remember the old adage that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. If the Michigan voters vote in another Conyers they will have the same kind of crap they had before. Look at Detroit, is that what Michigan voters want?

    Dianny saw what I saw.

Sad part is I expect his bequeathing his former seat will work on his idiotic district.
