Wow. The Golden Globe Awards were even worse than I anticipated.
It was an unwatchable circle jerk full of self-pity, self-congratulations, technical difficulties and boredom. Naturally it was replete with condescending, passive/aggressive attacks on Donald Trump and all the stupid, racist Americans who elected him.
And it all came to a head when Meryl Streep took to the stage and cast Hollywood in the role of the most vilified segment of the country.
I couldn’t even watch the video clip of it. Instead, thanks to Thomas Lifson over at American Thinker, I read the transcript of her moronic tantrum.
Given how deftly Meryl Streep beclowned herself last night, I don’t think she attended Yale Drama. Instead, I think Meryl’s degree is from Clown College.
Only a buffoon would claim Hollywood is one of the most vilified segments of America.
In one six minute self-pitying tirade, Meryl Streep even managed to out-victim Michelle Obama.
Who knew that was possible?!
“Vilify,” by definition, is “to speak or write about in an abusively disparaging manner.”
Tell you what, Meryl. How about we review what’s going on in America today. Let’s see if we can find some folks who might actually be more vilified than Hollywood.
High Schools and colleges are teaching white students that they’re inherently racist and possess the fictional “white privilege.”
White males are treated like everybody’s favorite whipping boy.
Hatred for whites has reached a fever pitch in this country.
And what’s worse, it is the one and only form of virulent racism that is not only permitted, but actively encouraged.
So let me ask you, Meryl. Between Hollywood and white males, who is more vilified?
But wait! There’s more!
In 2009, ordinary citizens rose up and organized Tea Party protests and rallies.
There were no riots, no burned out cars or vandalized stores. And the only violence that occurred at Tea Party events was caused by bused-in members of SEIU who began fights with rally-goers.
When their rallies ended, Tea Partiers even picked up all the trash on their way out – often leaving the place cleaner than when they arrived.
But the Tea Party was vilified, Meryl.
Cable news personalities called us “teabaggers” and accused us of being racists and Nazis.
We were disparaged by Democrats in Congress. Hell even the President of the United States got into the act.
We were slandered in the news and lied about on a regular basis.
In fact, Congressman John Lewis even lied and told the world that he had been called a nigger fifteen times at the DC Tea Party protest.
No evidence of this supposed racist attack could ever be produced. This was despite the plethora of video showing Lewis walking through the Tea Party protest.
And when he couldn’t back it up with facts, Lewis simply let it go.
He could let it go. Because by the time his accusations were debunked, his claims were already being reported as “fact” by a news media hell-bent on vilifying the Tea Party.
The Internal Revenue Service – under the vindictive strong arm of Lois Lerner – targeted these groups for undue and often illegal scrutiny. They illegally shared private citizens’ tax records with members of Congress – most notably Congressman Elijah Cummings of Maryland.
That, Meryl, is being vilified. When was the last time that happened to you?
I can’t help but wonder how you and the rest of your Hollywood buddies would hold up under those kinds of slanderous attacks.
And the hits just keep on coming.
Now, let’s talk about what Trump supporters have endured.
Trump supporters have been vilified in the press and popular culture on a daily basis for more than a year.
We’re called racist, homophobic, xenophobic, deplorable, stupid, ignorant, backwards – you name it.
Hollywood folks like yourself have defamed and denigrated us, Meryl.
Leftist organizations were paid by the DNC to “birddog” Trump supporters. They blocked traffic, vandalized cars, and committed acts of violence against Americans whose only crime was attending a Trump rally.
These are regular, everyday Americans. And they were attacked relentlessly by people like you, Meryl.
If you want to know what it’s like to be vilified, Meryl, you should have supported Donald Trump in the election.
Trust me. That would have given you a real taste for what being vilified is all about.
And let’s talk about Donald Trump himself.
Has there ever been any one individual more vilified by Hollywood, the press, colleges and universities — all those wealthy, elite circles like the ones you inhabit?
He’s even been mocked and disparaged by the current President of the United States.
The man who has never displayed one ounce of “homophobia” or “racism” is abused daily as being homophobic and racist by people like you, Meryl.
And when he stands up to a hostile news media that relentlessly attacks him, you claim that the news media, not Trump, are the ones being vilified.
After the slings and arrows this man has endured since he first announced his candidacy, now you want to cast yourself in the role of Victim?
Are you kidding me?
I got news for you, Meryl. You’re not a victim of attacks.
You’re one of the culprits.
And all of your attacks are based on lies and slander.
Donald Trump is not the monster and fascist you portray him as. The Donald Trump you’ve concocted is nothing but a straw man — as fictional as one of your movie characters.
The only crime President-Elect Trump committed was running for President the same year your favored candidate did. Then having the temerity to defeat her.
And how do you react?
You slander, demean, insult and attack not just Trump, but those of us who elected him.
And then you have the gall to act as if you are the victim who is being vilified.
I gotta hand it to you, Meryl. That takes some nerve.
And to be totally truthful with you, Meryl. We don’t need to vilify Hollywood.
You guys are doing an excellent job of discrediting and beclowning yourselves without any help from us.
Let’s be honest here. You don’t think that you’re being vilified.
What’s really got your nose out of joint is the fact that Americans don’t care about you.
We don’t care what you think. We don’t care what you say.
You matter to us about as much as a June bug in July.
At the end of the day, the American people chose to put their own interests and the interests of this country ahead of what a bunch of spoiled, wealthy celebrities demanded.
And for self-centered, self-important clowns like you, Meryl, that’s too much to bear.
