This is not the Blue Wave they were looking for

So Huffington Post ran a Twitter Poll to ferret out what folks thought of President Trump’s first State of the Union Address.

And it didn’t exactly turn out the way they wanted.

Yeah. That’s a blue wave.

It just isn’t the blue wave they were looking for.

Blue Wave Kenobi

Meanwhile, Monmouth University Polling has been predicting in their generic Republican vs. Democrat poll of that same upcoming Blue Wave in the Midterms.

But after the State of the Union Address, that 15-point Democrat advantage all but evaporated like spit on a summer sidewalk.

Now, Republicans versus Democrats are neck-in-neck within the margin of error.

I’m guessing those numbers will change again this month when paychecks start revealing the benefits of the Tax Reform law.

The bottom line is this. When push comes to shove, President Trump’s agenda and his message are popular.

And the only thing Democrats have to counter it is “Resist!!!”

Yeah. That’s not much of a message.

It’s clear now that the Democrats’ 2018 Midterm strategy is A) siding with illegal aliens and B) hating on Donald Trump.

And I don’t care how much you hate the President. That just isn’t a particularly effective campaign strategy.

The last six weeks have been brutal for the Democrat Party. And what’s particularly pathetic is they don’t seem to realize it.

First, every single Democrat voted against the tax cuts that Americans are already reaping benefits from.

Then, quickly on the heels of that, the Democrats decided to shut down the government on behalf of non-citizens. Well, we all know that blew up in their faces like a trick cigar.

And still they haven’t caught on to just how out of touch they are.

How do I know? Because Tuesday night they thought it would be a good idea to sit on their hands like petulant children with a bad case of the grumpy uglies during the SOTU.

So while Americans were wildly supportive of the President’s speech, Democrats once again chose poorly.

chose illegals

At this point, if that so-called Blue Wave never materializes, the Democrats will have nobody to blame but themselves.

As David Horowitz points out today at Front Page Magazine, the Democrats are running on hatred for President Trump … aaaand that’s about it.

In other words, they are doubling down on Hillary’s losing strategy of alienating most Americans by insulting and dismissing them while attacking Donald Trump relentlessly.

It didn’t work for Hillary. So I don’t know why they think it will be enough to create this mythical Blue Wave.

At the end of the day, President Trump’s message resonated with the very people the Democrats need to win.

As loud and obnoxious as the so-called ResistanceLOL may be, there just aren’t enough of them to deliver a victory for the Democrats in November.

Or, as Horowitz put it in his excellent column:

Their hate has blinded them to the interests of constituencies that used to be theirs; it has blinded them to the interests of the country at large, particularly as pertain to security and jobs; and it has narrowed their base of support to maybe 30% of the electorate, ensuring that come November they will have nowhere to go.

Another excellent post, Dianny… I can’t tell you how schadenfreuderrific it is to watch them “resist” from the rear-view mirror as we pull away.

The downward spiral of liberal philosophy continues and is circling the drain.
