There’s quite a hullabaloo over the Wall Street Journal reporting that if Bernie Sanders got his way, his proposals would cost us $18 Trillion dollars.
Now, some people are disputing this. In fact, the Journal published a second article saying, calm down. Nothing to see here. He isn’t planning on spending an additional $18 Trillion dollars. He will redirect current spending to his new Utopian plans.
Sure. That’ll happen.
Frankly, I don’t give a crap.
If you read that second article from the Post, they carp on about how Republicans never consider how much tax cuts cost the government.
That tells me all I need to know. Tax cuts are a cost to the government.
Do they forget it is our freaking money to begin with?!
Dear God, I hate these people.
Socialists of any stripe would do well to remember what Margaret Thatcher once said. The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people’s money.
Looting private businesses in order to fund Bernie’s grand Utopian schemes won’t even make a dent in what he wants to do. In fact, the more you confiscate out of the private economy, the more you damage our entire economy. And as our economy crumbles, all the cash you you’re depending on will disappear. The honey pot will run dry. Then what do you do with your spanking new Single Payer Healthcare system and your free college and you free this and free that?
Where will the money come from?
The bottom line is this. Whether it’s Obama or Sanders, socialists have no grasp of numbers.
For some of us, math is inconvenient. For these guys, it’s as foreign to them as the idea of Liberty.
