Of course Democrats aren’t proud to be Americans

proud to be an American

CNN is reveling in a recent Gallup poll that shows only 47% of Americans are “extremely proud” to be American.

Honestly, I haven’t seen these guys this wildly excited since Obama won in 2008 promising to fundamentally transform America.

Coincidence?

I think not.

What makes that number so low? Why are only 47% of Americans proud to be Americans?

Well, the Democrats are dragging the number down. You see, only 32% of Democrats are extremely proud to be Americans.

But that doesn’t surprise me.

If your love of the country depends on who is in the White House, you’re kind of an idiot.

Which explains why you vote Democrat.

America isn’t the Government.

America isn’t the President.

We the People are America.

For the eight years that Barack Obama was crapping all over our representative government and our Constitution, I never stopped being proud to be an American.

Because I know that America is more than the President – more than Washington DC.

And I love this country.

I love our history, our culture and heritage.

I love what we stand for and what we fight for.

And I love our Constitution – a document like no other in the history of the world.

We are nation founded on the ideal of limited government and individual sovereignty – where our unalienable rights are sacrosanct and our government’s power limited and derived from the consent of the governed.

What kind of small and pathetic world must you exist in to hate your country just because your Presidential candidate lost the election?

But then again, many of these same people are willing to shun friends and family who don’t share their political ideology.

And if you can’t even love your family because of politics, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that you can’t love your country.

Honestly, I simply cannot conceive of being this miserable and bitter while living in the greatest nation on earth.

And what makes me particularly sad is American citizens are being taught to hate America.

In public schools, in colleges and universities, in culture and the media – they are being inculcated with this notion that America sucks.

Yet they maintain that hating America is somehow “patriotic.”

Yeah. Sure. Whatever you say.

Speaking of which, if you have the chance, go over to the Federalist and read Jesse Kelly’s excellent column If You Don’t Believe in Limited Self-Government, You’re Not An American Patriot.

I just love his subtle, understated titles.

The title alone is enough to make the ResistanceLOL shriek like cats getting a bath.

Here’s a taste:

America is not whatever you want it to be. America is not freedom from worry. It is not free stuff from the taxpayer. It is not a guarantee that you will be successful in life. It’s not even the flag or the troops or the fireworks. America isn’t “paying taxes.” It is not “never having to worry about your medical bills.” In short, America is not customizable to your fleeting whims or whatever you are “feeling” whenever the fireworks are sparkling in your eyes.

“Patriotism” is not difficult to define, as much as the Left would have you think it so. It is not a fluid thing. Torching the flag and crapping on the anthem is not patriotism. It may be a reflection of the freedom that makes America great, but it is not patriotism.

Patriotism in America means loving limited government. It is that simple. You love that America has a constitutionally limited government, or you do not love America. Saying you love America and do not want the government limited is like saying you love your car but hate the engine, seats, and interior.

He’s right.

Because America’s heart and soul is the Individual. It was designed that way.

Limited self-government means the individual is sovereign.

We are not ruled.

We are not subjects of our government.

Instead, We the People are sovereign and our government’s power comes only from our consent.

America is the only nation in the world founded on that principle.

That’s what makes us exceptional.

And that’s precisely why I am proud to be an American.

More from Kelly’s column:

You live the life of a king. Being born in America is the greatest win of life’s lottery in human history. Those things I listed above are not reserved for royalty. Our poorest people have those things. Despite all the endless whining and screeching, all people in America have it good. They have lives 99 percent of people in history would kill for.

And why do you have that life? You have it because the American government is limited. This life you live is not an accident. It did not fall from the sky. It was intentional, and others do not have the privilege of living it.

Definitely read the whole thing.

At the heart of it, this is precisely why only 32% of Democrats are extremely proud to be American.

They hate our system of government.

And for more than century, they’ve tried to undermine it.

Sadly, in many ways they have succeeded.

The reason now that they aren’t proud is because the damage they’ve done to our founding principles is beginning to get undone. We the People are fighting back against the destruction they’ve caused.

As Mark Levin always says, if you love America you don’t try to fundamentally transform it.

The Democrats’ and the Left (same thing) are not proud to be American because to them, America is only great if it stops being America as founded.

They despise the fact that our nation’s independence was rooted in the principle that government derives its power from the consent of the governed.

They don’t want consent; they want power.

And never forget; they have nothing but contempt for the American people — especially those who are patriotic, who love this country and believe in American exceptionalism.

But the truth is they always felt that way.

The only thing that’s changed is they’re no longer hiding it.

I would assume that the poll numbers are so low because it’s a CNN poll and their ratings are lower than the Home Shopping Network

Ugh. In that case, they probably cooked the numbers to get a narrative running.

I watched a History Channel program about the world’s dictators. And when it was over, I said “Thank God I was born in America!”

I live here in Philadelphia and used to work across the street from Independence Hall & the Liberty Bell. Just walking around makes me think of those brave, brilliant, patriotic men (and women) who helped forge what we have today. Long may it last!!

    Happy Independence Day, America!

Democrats and their college children constituency are on a permanent collision course with reality. It was sustainable for many decades due to America’s immense wealth. Our politics permitted us to distribute benefits liberally, raising everyone’s living standard as long it all remained inside the nation. We rewarded Democratic constituencies according to the political power they maintained. Predictably, these constituency simply continued to multiply and grow and even while they expanded, they became ever more dysfunctional, unrealistic and quite detached from any economic reality. Today, they have even become detached from political reality. They are totally tethered.

When the political establishment, both Republicans and Democrats adopted polices promoting the abandonment and destruction of America so as to accommodate this new paradigm of globalism, which is to say the propertied interests of those they have always represented, the elite corporate, multi national executives who represented America’s propertied establishment the game changed, profoundly and likely forever.

All of America’s wealth and power was no longer enough. With the availability of new technology, the decision was made to sell out America and her people in favor of an attempted installation of some vague, new paradigm known only as the new world order, a one world, economic globalism of economic agreements. This of course, meant the systematic destruction of nationalism. All of America’s reserves of wealth, advantage and omnipotence has now largely been plundered and destroyed.

And make no mistake, this was always about the destruction of America and her middle classes. Notice how the multi national, corporations have absorbed the middle class’ assets, position and wealth. And both in the US as well as the EU. Of course it was also about the opening of new markets as well. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out as well as these elites had hoped. Domestically, the political corruption turned out to be amateur hour, totally unprepared for the likes of a Donald Trump. Internationally, the Chinese as well as everyone else just ate their lunch while they surrendered America’s technology and middle class wealth.

The Republicans were and largely still are, duplicitous. They represent themselves as and pretend to be, traditional, patriotic and somewhat conservative. Their base is onto them. The Democrats were always Socialists light, big on redistribution and political fixes while flying flags of compassion. The reality was the Democratic Party came to represent the establishment interests, which in turn allowed them to maintain their own, personal positions of privilege. America and it’s middle classes no longer had any representation until Donald Trump emerged tweeting himself into the equation.

It is up to the President to force to our universities to acknowledge reality as opposed to ideology. It is up to this Administration to secure our borders. It is up to this Administration to demand the law live up to its duties with criminal referrals and exhaustive investigations and prosecutions. If we are to be a nation, we must function as a nation. While I support and celebrate everything the President has accomplished today we are neither fish, nor fowl. If, we are a nation, we must enforce our borders and expel illegals. If, we are a nation of laws, we must enforce the law.

A third of the hosts of heaven were unhappy with their government once upon a time, and they were cast out. I reckon we know where they are and what they are up to today.

Fine by me. We got more than our fair share of their insincerity when he was in office. I don’t need to be subjected to any more now that he’s gone.
