I love It’s a Wonderful Life. In fact, I watch it every Christmas.
And I’ll admit, the ending scene when George Bailey’s brother Harry offers up a toast to the “richest man in town,” I sob like a hormonal pregnant lady.
But according to CNN’s Carol Costello, It’s a Wonderful Life is “inherently sexist.”
I mean it’s exactly like A Handmaid’s Tale!!!!
For Costello, it is better to “retire these dinosaurs and bask in a brighter and more equitable future.”
For the Left, it is paramount to erase our history, culture, and traditions – even something as innocuous as a lighthearted Christmas movie like It’s a Wonderful Life.
It’s how those seeking the glorious revolution always behave.
History, tradition – these are the enemies of the Left.
Part of the problem is Leftists are miserable, miserable people.
When you’re offended by pretty much everything, even It’s a Wonderful Life makes you seethe.
Personally, I can’t imagine being that perpetually unhappy.
But in her blind hatred of “traditional marriage,” Costello misses a significant plot-point to It’s a Wonderful Life.
Did she forget that George Bailey’s financial predicament is solved by his wife?
Mary is the one who starts making the phone calls and letting people that George is in trouble.
Because of her, everyone in town comes to George’s aid.
Because of her quick thinking, the Bailey Building and Loan is saved and George won’t have to go to prison over Uncle Billy losing the money.
Call me crazy, Carol. But I think that makes Mary the hero of the story.
But for Pete’s sake, it’s a lovely Christmas story about faith, community, and family. Which, come to think of it, is exactly why a dried-up, angry crone like Carol Costello finds it so offensive.
Hat tip Breitbart.
