What part of Unalienable do they not understand?

“We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.”

I happened across an exchange on Twitter between former Navy SEAL Sean Parnell and a typical anti-gun know-nothing.

See, this is the problem with the angry mob of gun-grabbers.

They truly do believe that our Rights come from Government.

This genius here believes that the unalienable right to self-defense was created out of whole cloth by a “group of men about 250 years ago.”

Believe me, he isn’t the only one.

The uniformed teenagers/human props being bankrolled by Leftist organizations think the same thing. As do most idiot celebrities – like the intellectually-challenged Alyssa Milano.

And sadly, most of the Democrats in Congress.

Unalienable means “cannot be separated.” Our rights cannot be separated from us – not by an angry mob. And certainly not by legislation.

The Second Amendment does not grant us the right to self-defense. We already have that – it is hardwired into our nature as human beings.

All the Second Amendment does is make it clear that the Government founded by “a group of men about 250 years ago” cannot infringe on our unalienable right to self-defense.

As Judge Andrew Napolitano explained in his column at Fox News yesterday:

“The reason for all this is natural. It is natural to defend yourself — your life — and your children. The Framers recognized this right when they ratified the Second Amendment. They wrote it to ensure that all governments would respect the right to keep and bear arms as a natural extension of the right to self-defense.

“In its two most recent interpretations of the right to self-defense, the Supreme Court characterized that right as “pre-political.” That means the right pre-existed the government. If it pre-existed the government, it must come from our human nature.”

But for the angry mob, Government bestows on us our rights.

That’s why they believe affordable healthcare is a “right” and “free public education” is a “right.” And it is also behind this push for a “universal basic income.”

All of these things are not unalienable rights. Instead, they are the “rights” a Government doles out like party favors. If there was no government, those so-called “rights” would evaporate.

But unalienable rights are not dependent upon government – they pre-exist, inherent in all of us.

It is human nature to act in self-defense. In fact, for all living things the basic nature of “fight or flight” is ingrained.

But as I’ve said before – on numerous occasions – the objective of the modern-day Left or “Progressive Movement” is to beat human nature clean out of us.

They’ve been trying for a century.

You see, the Left believes that “banning” things will somehow alter our human nature – both good and bad.

In 1928, they tried to “ban war.”

Yeah. It didn’t work. Because unfortunately, there is evil in the world. And mankind (or “peoplekind” if you’re Justin Trudeau) is an imperfect creature prone to evil acts. So it didn’t matter how many countries signed on to the “Kellogg-Briand pact.” Evil does not obey “bans.”

They’re trying today to beat the masculinity out of men.

But masculinity is a part of the nature of males. You cannot separate masculinity from men – no matter how much you use the “toxic” when describing it.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that for the Left the idea of self-defense being an unalienable right is so repugnant.

But it is an unalienable right. It is part of our nature.

As I wrote after the Orlando terror attack:

“It is human nature to protect yourself. The whole ‘fight or flight’ is innate in all of us. It is the natural desire to protect yourself. Sometimes, to protect yourself, it is better to run. But sometimes you can’t run. So to protect yourself, you must fight.

“We fight to survive. The survival instinct is part of being human.

“In fact, every living thing fights to survive — from super bugs to sea turtles to humans.

“What the Left wants is to strip humans of the most fundamental instinct of all living things: to survive. Self-defense is about that fundamental instinct. But the Left doesn’t want us to defend ourselves. The Left wants to transform human nature and the basic truths of all living things.

“They have a penchant for that, don’t they? Why else would they advocate that gender is fluid and not fixed?

“Human nature must bend to the will of the Left.

“To protect yourself is your most basic responsibility and right. It is why we find shelter, why we eat food. For heaven’s sake, it’s why we duck when we hear a loud noise or when someone yells, ‘Look out!’

“And it is precisely why we invented the firearm.

“I’m sure the guy in China who developed the firearm didn’t think to himself, ‘This is great! Now we have something to shoot into the air at the start of a foot race!’

“We develop weapons to protect and defend. Period.”

The truth is, it isn’t guns the Left wants to ban; They want to ban human nature.

When you get right down to it, human nature and the concept of our rights being unalienable stand in the way of their agenda. Because their agenda is contrary to human nature.

Liberty, individual sovereignty, unalienable rights, self-determination – all of these things are an impediment to the modern-day Left.

So they prey on the uneducated – the very uneducated that they’ve ensured are uneducated. And they exploit them.

Because let’s face it; the Left wants us to be ignorant sheep.

As Alexis de Tocqueville put it in his book Democracy in America:

“The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.”

De Tocqueville meant this as a warning.

But for the Left, it’s the goal.
