Proving her critics right one tweet at a time

proving her critics right

Poor Alexandria Occasionally-Confused. She’s getting raked over the coals for not being very bright.

And this constant barrage from critics pointing out Alexandria’s lack of smarts?

Well, suffice it to say it really smarts.

In fact, Alexandria has let her critics burrow under her skin like a tick.

Now, see, if Alexandria was a Republican, mocking her lack of intelligence would be a national pastime enjoyed by all.

As Ann Coulter famously pointed out more than sixteen years ago in her book Slander:

If liberals were prevented from ever again calling Republicans dumb, they would be robbed of half their arguments. To be sure, they would still have “racist,” “fascist,” “homophobe,” “ugly,” and a few other highly nuanced arguments in the quiver. But the loss of “dumb” would nearly cripple them. Like clockwork, every consequential Republican to come down the pike is instantly, invariably, always, without exception called “dumb.”

But now that the Manolo Blahnik is on the other foot and it’s a Democrat who’s getting dragged for being dumb, the media doesn’t like it one bit.

Odd how that happens, isn’t it?

The difference is when we call a Democrat dumb, there’s a 99% chance that she is, in fact, kinda dumb.

[See also Maxine Waters]

The other difference, of course, is when Republicans get the “dumb” card tossed at them, they pretty much know the best course of action is to ignore it.

Not so for Alexandria Occasionally-Confused.

Instead, she simply will not let it go.

Problem is, instead of proving her critics wrong, Alexandria seems to be proving them right every time she opens her mouth or takes to Twitter.

Lately, it is Fox News that has burrowed under Alexandria’s thin skin.

[Like that’s hard.]

She just can’t shut up about them.

This is what passes for “mocking” Fox News? Good grief, she even lacks the skill to mock successfully.

Oh, and by the way, Alex, honey? I don’t mean to be a grammar Nazi, but it’s “more intelligent than I” not “more intelligent than me.”

Talk about a “self-own.”

So, in an effort to prove that Fox is wrong about her being stupid, Alexandria proves them right.

Again.

Is everyone at Fox smarter than Alexandria?

That depends. Is Juan Williams still employed there?

[Now, that is mocking Fox News.]

Though, to be fair to Juan, I think even he knows there are three branches of the Federal Government, not three chambers.

If Alexandria is really as intelligent as she thinks, she would realize that constantly feeding the critics only provides the critics with more ammunition.

As the old saying goes, “Tis better to be silent and thought a fool than to go on Twitter and remove all doubt.”

Not that there aren’t people who mistake Occasionally-Confused’s Twitter “insights” for brilliance.

There are.

And a lot of them work at CNN.

Who thought we’d ever see the phrase “a deeper look” used to describe anything related to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? That’s like taking a deeper look into a Limerick about a guy from Nantucket.

Actually, Brian, Alexandria doesn’t use social media to “fire back” at her critics.

Instead, she rushes to social media to complain about being criticized then waits for her band of followers to attack the critics on her behalf.

Which makes you wonder who in that relationship is the “Representative.”

She uses her Twitter followers as shock troops.

That’s not Ocasio-Cortez “firing back” at anybody; that’s hiding behind human shields while playing the victim.

But it’s the best she can do.

Because if Alexandria actually had to engage in intelligent debate, it wouldn’t be a fair fight.

After all, it’s infinitely difficult to win a battle of wits when you’re woefully outgunned.

Now, I don’t necessarily think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is incapable of becoming educated.

Maybe she could if she tried.

And therein lies the problem; she won’t try.

Like so many her age, Alexandria suffers from that crippling combination of Arrogance and Ignorance.

She is far too arrogant to stop and consider that she might not know what in the hell she’s talking about.

As Socrates once put it, the beginning of wisdom is knowing you know nothing.

Which is probably why nobody on Planet Earth will ever consider Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez particularly wise.

In the end, I’m thinking Alexandria’s social media war against her critics isn’t going to end the way she hopes.

It doesn’t make her look smart or savvy.

If anything, it makes her look like a thin-skinned, passive-aggressive, unserious ignoramus with a grudge — whose only recourse is to have her anonymous Twitter followers fight her battles for her.

Last week I saw a headline about how AOC supporters were “upping their game” against conservative memes mocking her. So, intrigued, I clicked the link to see these memes. Alas, there were no memes, just a story about how they got one guy who created a meme of Facebook fired from his job.

I guess it’s true, Leftists can’t meme because A) they have no sense of humor and B) they are memes. In this case, nasty, vindictive memes.

Tune in Sunday, 11 a.m. ET, for a deeper look at how President Trump uses social media to fire back at his critics in liberal media.

Just wondering if you’d ever see that post.
    😆
