A recap of Sunday … in pictures

If it weren’t for Twitter, I wouldn’t have remembered the Golden Globes were Sunday.

Now, I did touch on the “Let’s Wear Black to Absolve Ourselves of Our Own Silence” idea back when it was first announced.

But then, I kinda forgot all about it.

So Sunday night when I saw tweets about the Golden Globes, I was taken by surprise.

This is the level of interest I have in Hollywood awards shows.

But apparently they did follow through and wear black. And that will be the sum total of what these nitwits do to “stand up against sexual assault in Hollywood.”

Well, that and wear a pin that reads “Time’s Up.”

And now that they’ve taken a symbolic stand, they can go back to turning a blind eye to the Hollywood rape culture.

I saw a post either at Variety or Hollywood Reporter – I don’t remember which – that had pictures of the all black gowns. Some of them weren’t so much “black” as sheer and see-through.

Because nothing says, “stop sexually assaulting us” like wearing see-through gowns.

One actress, however, wore a black skirt and a sweatshirt with this moronic statement.

Poverty is sexist?

What the hell does that even mean?

But here’s the irony of her “Poverty is Sexist” shirt:

Yeah. It cost $380.

Self-awareness is not a common trait around Hollywood, is it?

Then there was NBC’s tweet about Oprah Winfrey:

You’ll note I didn’t include the actual tweet.

That’s because just moments after I got a screen capture of it, NBC deleted it.

Golly, I wonder why?

Could it be that NBC realized they exposed themselves as being biased?

I guess we’ll never know.

It could just be because they set themselves up for a hell of a lot of blowback.

Enough about the Golden Globes.

Let’s move on to the shouting match disguised as a Sunday show.

This story made me laugh out loud.

Jake Tapper had one hell of a contentious interview with Stephen Miller.

But it was Tapper’s ending to the interview that I found all manner of hilarious.

What he say? This: “I think I wasted enough of my viewers’ time.”

Suddenly CNN is worried about wasting their viewers’ time?

Since when?

How many minutes on air did they waste reporting on a white truck blocking their view of Donald Trump golfing?

And how much time did they waste on ice cream scoops and Diet Cokes?

Now wasting their viewers’ time is a bridge too far for CNN?

Who believes that?

CNN wasted time

The truth is, except for “Full Measure,” Sunday shows in general waste viewers’ time.

No, that’s not right. Let me rephrase.

CNN in general is a waste of viewers’ time.

And clearly the viewers know that. Which might explain why CNN consistently loses the ratings game to not only Fox News, but MSNBC.

I haven’t watched any awards show, not even country music since about 1990. I refuse to watch narcissistic multi millionaires give each other awards for doing their job. Actors especially rankle me. They get paid $10 million a movie by pretending to be somebody or something they’re not then wallow in praise for being a phony. And this leftist hypocrite with the $380 anti-poverty shirt proves my point.

Since they openly admitted it would be a “Hate America” themed show I ignored it. I do not hate America.

I agree with Reverend Hoagie. I haven’t watched the malignant narcissism fest for a good many years.

Boy you know it’s bad when your ratings are below MSNBC. WOW!

It’s not a waste of time…….in my Uber Lib inlaws case in their late 70’s….it is a waste of life. Literally. I did some simple math and they watch 33 hours (minimum) of “News” aka Trump bashing per month. That’s well over one waking day per month watching, hoping, feeling rage, let down, cussing…….iow…..they are wasting the remaining few years of their life……not time.
