Scattering rats, phony denials and smearing the victims

It’s been quite a sight to behold these last several days, hasn’t it?

We all knew that Hollywood’s virtue-signaling was a façade.

That’s not a surprise at all.

But what’s shocking is how quickly the façade crumbled away and we got to see the true face of our so-called social betters.

With the exposure of Harvey Weinstein’s truly despicable deeds, the response from these “courageous” celebrities falls into two categories:

There are the scattering rats fleeing the sinking SS Weinstein while issuing phony denials.

And then there are the opportunistic parasites who are smearing Weinstein’s victims.

Neither is particularly noble or “courageous.” But neither is a surprise either.

Many of the same celebrities who accused Betsy DeVos of shielding and excusing rapists when she restored due-process rights to college campuses are now shielding and excusing the rapist in their midst.

And my bet is they’re shielding more than one.

How could they go from “Victims of sexual assault must be believed” to smearing Harvey Weinstein’s victims in no time flat?

It’s simple.

They never really meant it.

Celebrities embrace causes which they believe will best advance their career.

It’s all about their public profile, not any moral conviction.

So when the degenerate is someone they know, they drop all pretense to defend him or they scatter like rats to avoid having the scandal splash up onto them.

When I saw that designer Donna Karan was smearing Weinstein’s victims, I wasn’t surprised in the least.

We know how these people really think.

They’re all for believing victims of sexual assault when it elevates their public persona and all for smearing them when it doesn’t.

And when neither of those options help them out, they pretend to be shocked — Shocked I tell you! — as if they knew nothing about it.

Because despite wanting us to think they are courageous and brave, these Hollywood rats are cowards and petty opportunists.

Just look at Lisa Bloom, who like her mother has made a name for herself defending supposed “victims of sexual abuse.” She sided with Weinstein over his victims because of a TV deal.

And worse, she planned to defend Weinstein by smearing his accusers.

And it isn’t that they’re hypocrites exactly. Because the truth is, they’re painfully consistent.

When defending victims of sexual assault benefits them, they’ll defend them.

And when smearing victims of sexual assault benefits them, they’ll smear them.

And if issuing statements filled with phony denials and faux outrage is the only way to preserve their own reputation, then that’s exactly what they’ll do.

In the end, their goal is always the same: doing what benefits them.

And there’s no better example of this than their idol Hillary Rodham Clinton.

When Bill’s victim’s threatened her advancement, they were fair game.

But when she thought portraying herself as an über-feminist would help her become President, she shifted gears and claimed that every victim should be believed.

And then, when the sexual abuser is one of her biggest donors, she runs and hides like a rat until the story dies.

These people are opportunists — their only guiding principle is self-promotion and advancement.

And thanks to Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace, that reality has been laid bare for the world to see.

Like I said last week, Weinstein’s fall is pulling the façade off of these opportunists.

The insufferable sanctimony from these self-proclaimed social betters has blown up in their faces like a trick cigar.

And I don’t know about you, but for the first time in years, I’m thoroughly enjoying a blockbuster drama coming out of Hollywood.

Apparently Hillary has made a statement. Given how pathetic / phony it is she probably would have done better to keep quiet:

“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior”

Yeah. It’s pretty bloodless compared to her hair-on-fire response to the Access Hollywood tape.

Someone should write a book or a script…”the Rise and Fall of The Hollywood Empire”.

And like Rome they did it to themselves.

With the exception of pre 1977 Disney; this has been “SOP” in Hollywood for 100 years. IMHO a great article in AM Spectator yesterday documenting what I just said. They not only hate America but are sex obsessed perves (both sexes BTW).
