Yesterday Valerie Jarrett lamented that Donald Trump’s victory was “soul crushing.”
I was stunned to be honest.
Who knew Valerie Jarrett had a soul?
I figured she sold that off long ago – either to the mullahs or to the devil.
What? Same thing? Yeah, probably.
Jarrett was at some useless forum called “Women Rule” when she weighed in on the election results.
“Obviously we were surprised by the outcome of the election. It kind of was like — I’m not sure what the right analogy would be — but like a punch in the stomach, let’s say. Soul-crushing might be another description.”
Actually, Valerie, the analogy I would go with is “reality just punched you in the face.”
Jarrett is one of those Obama True Believers.
I’d go so far as to say that she’s the Mr. Smithers to Obama’s Monty Burns.
David Remnick once quoted Valerie Jarrett saying this:
“I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. … He knows how perceptive he is.”
Anybody else needing an air sick bag?
“He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them.”
“And I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. … So what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. … He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do.”
I stand corrected. She didn’t sell her soul to the devil.
Valerie sold her soul to Obama.
No wonder Trump winning was a punch in the stomach.
Like all of the True Believers, Valerie lives in a bubble of denial.
How else do you explain the fact that she believes this incompetent, inept, lazy man is virtually god-like?
And sealed up tight in her bubble, Valerie actually thinks we all agree with her.
Donald Trump’s victory didn’t punch Valerie in the stomach. His victory punched a hole in that hermetically-sealed bubble of fiction where she resides.
And Valerie, like most of the Obama Administration, was left slack-jawed in shock to learn, except for coastal California, America begged to differ.
Anybody who lives in the real world could have seen Trump’s victory coming.
And this is why Leftists like Valerie Jarrett were caught flat-footed. They don’t live in the real world.
I don’t doubt that she’s devastated to learn that out here in the real world, Americans aren’t exactly thrilled with the damage Obama has wrought.
But soul crushing?
That requires a soul.
And I’m fairly certain Valerie’s soul left the building ages ago.
