In the previous post, I mentioned an email where Team Clinton was ghostwriting an op-ed for one of the campaign surrogates – Rosa Delauro. No sooner do I go back to reading today’s email release that I find another surrogate email.
In fact, Team Clinton actually has a “Director of Surrogates” who sends out marching orders for all the people not officially associated with the campaign on what to tweet or share on Facebook.
Not only what to tweet and share, but also some sample language to use in retweets and shares.
Now, I don’t know who these surrogates are exactly since the “To:” field only says, “Undisclosed recipients,” but here’s an email from September 14, 2015 from the “Director of Surrogates” Diane Hamwi.
Earlier today in Iowa, Hillary made a powerful statement on the need to confront the epidemic of campus sexual assault. Her message is really resonating with young women, and now we need your help amplifying it.
In case you’re wondering, this is the “message” Hillary made:
Any old how, Hamwi continues:
*Share this video* of Hillary saying to survivors of sexual assault: “We’re with you.” Here’s sample language you can use, but feel free to personalize.
*“We’re with you.” @hillaryclinton’s message to survivors of sexual assault.
*[email protected] wants survivors of sexual assault to know that they have the right to be heard and believed.
Or if you prefer, you can also RT/share the post from Hillary’s accounts:

Thanks for your continued support! As always if you need anything, please let me or one of my colleagues on the Surrogate Team know.
So, apparently many of the retweets and shares Hillary gets are from people being instructed by Team Clinton to retweet and share them.
I think Nancy Pelosi would call this “Astro-turf.”
Knowing what we know today, however, I’m betting Diane Hamwi wishes she hadn’t rallied her surrogates to retweet and share that God-awful video.
Especially since it came back to bite Hillary on the ass big-time.
