Remember how stunned we were when Hillary Clinton made her now-infamous Deplorable comment?
It really was unprecedented this willingness to publicly, before cameras, insult half the country while campaigning for their votes.
I’ve said before that I think Hillary’s Deplorable comment sank her chances to win. The fact is, Americans don’t particularly like being attacked and insulted by someone who is looking for their votes.
Of course the entire weekend of September 9, 2016 will go down in history as the very moment Hillary’s White House Dream went up in flames. She started the weekend with her Deplorable comment then capped it off by toppling over onto the sidewalk like a sack of potatoes.
But as repugnant as Hillary’s Deplorable comment was, it almost seems quaint compared to the things the current crop of 2020 candidates are saying.
Let me give you two of the latest examples.
First, you have Elizabeth Warren who on Saturday said this [Hat tip Breitbart]:
“A lot of people want to talk about the guy in the White House. We need to talk about an America that was broken long before he arrived there — the America that elected him — that is a broken country, that is a country with serious problems.”
You got that? The only way Trump could’ve possibly won was we voters who elected him have serious problems.
To Liz’s way of thinking, Trump isn’t the problem; we are.
Then there’s some Congressman Seth Moulton who is also running for President.
Democrat presidential candidate Seth Moulton: “If this country wasn’t racist, Stacey Abrams would be Governor.” pic.twitter.com/ShJwqLwMOd— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) June 2, 2019
You hear that?
The only reason the perpetually angry sore loser from Georgia lost her bid for governor is because we’re a bunch of stinking, rotten racists!!!!
I guess Seth Moulton is unaware that this stinking, rotten racist country elected a black man President not once, but twice.
“Americans are a bunch of racists, sexists, and homophobes: Vote for us!” isn’t the winning message Democrats think it is.— jon gabriel (@exjon) June 2, 2019
I find that insulting the people you hope will vote for you to be problematic. As in, not a winning strategy. When you insult people’s intelligence, they tend to not vote for you, because they end up not liking you. Because you know, you insulted them. https://t.co/97PusIT2ec— Ned Ryun (@nedryun) June 3, 2019
Yes, it’s seems blazingly obvious that attacking, demeaning and vilifying the very people you need to win an election seems just a tad counterproductive.
This is something the Democrats should have noodled out after Hillary’s Deplorable comment.
But clearly they didn’t because the Democrat Party just can’t stop doing it.
Kurt Schlichter has said for years that they hate us. And all you have to do is listen to what they say to know it’s true. These idiots tell us exactly how they feel. And they don’t speak in “code” or use “dog whistles.” No. They just come on out and say it.
Who knew we’d look back on Hillary’s Deplorable comment and think to ourselves, “How quaint.”
Ah, yes. Those simpler times – back when we only had one Presidential candidate calling us names. Now, the whole 2020 clown car is piling on.
Honestly, I’ve never seen anything like this.
The Democrats are so damn angry with the American people, they don’t even bother trying to hide their disdain.
I told you over two years ago, it isn’t Trump they hate; they hate us.
Hollywood, the news media, the Democrat Party – these people despise us.
And it’s right out there in front of our faces all that dripping, vitriolic loathing.
The irony, of course, is these same Democrats who attack us, insult us and hold us in contempt are the ones who shriek “Trump is dividing the nation!!” And they do it without a single thought at how utterly divisive they are.
And while Trump is famous for hurling insults at fellow politicians or the media, he has never – and I mean NEVER – insulted or vilified the American people. Sure, he’s brash. But there’s a difference between Trump calling Maxine Waters “low IQ” or Joe Biden “Sleepy” and these Democrats accusing their fellow citizens of being “racist,” “sexist,” “deplorable” or, as Liz said, “broken.”
Remember after Hillary’s Deplorable comment, Trump said of her during one of their debates, “Such a nasty woman.”
He didn’t say, “You could call Hillary’s supporters ‘Nasty.’” He called her “nasty.”
Trump makes specific insults directed at a specific person. But the Democrats hurl blanket attacks and smears at more than half the country.
For them, it isn’t enough to limit their vitriol to Donald Trump. It never has been. Because, as I said, it isn’t Trump they hate. They hate us.
They hate us because we don’t want to be governed by insufferable scolds who want to micromanage our lives, confiscate our money, flood our country with illegals, and lord over us.
They hate us because we love America and they don’t.
And they hate us because their crazy, destructive, moronic ideas are deeply unpopular. But rather than listening to the American people, they arrogantly dismiss us as being too stupid and backwards to understand just how brilliant they are.
But here’s the thing. If your campaign strategy is “I can make America a wonderful place if only we could rid ourselves of, well, Americans!!!” you’re an idiot.
Worse still, you’re the kind of clueless idiot that hasn’t learned a damn thing from Hillary Clinton’s grievous mistake.
