Remember last year when rapper Eminem desperately tried to get President Trump’s attention by repeatedly attacking him?
And no matter what venom poor Eminem spit out, President Trump didn’t know he was alive.
That was all manner of fun!
Well, apparently the Congresswoman from the great state of Twitter, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is getting the Eminem treatment from the President.
And it’s really bugging her.
Today, during an impromptu Q&A with the press before his trip to New Orleans, President Trump was asked to respond to Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that he’s racist.
And his response should serve as a template to how all of us should react when her name comes up.
Talk about a dis.
Poor Alexandria. Just like Eminem, she so wants to be all Trump thinks about.
And he dismisses her with a wave of his hand and a “who cares?”
Naturally, since facts and truth don’t matter to the Congresswoman from the state of Twitter, she interpreted Trump’s dismissiveness with this bit of factually-challenged jujitsu:
Yeah, you’ve burrowed so far under his skin, he doesn’t even notice you, you dummy.
The truth is, anytime the Congresswoman from the state of Twitter is criticized, she stops what she’s doing to launch a “well-oh-yeah?!!”-style counter-attack.
In fact, I think it’s safe to say that everybody who has ever uttered a negative thing about her is firmly embedded beneath her skin – from Joe Lieberman to some anonymous Twitter dolt who shares a video of her dancing.
The thin-skinned little twit can’t let anything go.
But most of the time, her retorts are so ham-handed and silly, she only succeeds in making herself look like a hyper-sensitive complainer.
Trump, on the other hand, tends to knock people flat with one well-placed tweet.
I said a couple weeks ago that Trump is a lot like this:
Whereas the Congresswoman from the state of Twitter is more like this:
Don’t doubt me on this. Trump dismissing her with a “who cares” got under her skin like a starved tick.
It’s eating away at her.
Because nothing offends the Congresswoman from the state of Twitter quite like being perceived as inconsequential.
Alexandria lives for attention — any attention — that she can use to feed both her ego and the attentions of her sycophantic Twitter followers. Who, let’s be honest, are her real constituency — not the folks who live in her New York district.
And the way she serves her constituents is “laying down the smack” on Twitter.
And a “who cares?” and a dismissive wave of the hand from President Trump really must sting.
But rather than just let it go (she can’t), she has to pretend she somehow was the one who got the upper hand. It’s kind of embarrassing, really.
If everybody treated her with the same dismissive indifference that President Trump did today, it would gnaw at her. She would spend sleepless nights stewing in impotent frustration.
So I say we all follow the President’s lead and ignore Twitter’s Congresswoman.
Don’t you want to see how she reacts when everybody’s response to her name is “Who cares?”
