I never thought I’d write this, but I am glad I don’t live in Texas.
Now, don’t get me wrong. It is my hope to retire to Texas when the time comes.
But I am glad that my retirement to Texas won’t happen until after Beto is history.
Apparently the Beto O’Rourke campaign is relentlessly texting Texans trying to get them to toss aside sanity and vote for the Democrats’ latest It Girl.
So much so that O’Rourke’s campaign is being sued for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
This act prohibits the use of automated telephone equipment to send texts to a person’s cell phone without permission (except for emergency purposes).
The O’Rourke campaign says it is “fully compliant with the law” – implying that the texts are coming from their “grassroots volunteer program” and not automated telephone equipment.
My guess is the O’Rourke campaign prefers using texting rather than phone calls because that way they can hide the fact that these “grassroots volunteers” don’t possess a Texas accent.
Come on. You know half of them sound like Californians.
You know, there is such a thing as trying too hard.
But, don’t Democrats always push too hard and too far?
Whoever it was in the O’Rourke campaign who thought it was a good idea to send repeated texts to everyone in Texas with a cell phone should declare his salary an in-kind contribution to Ted Cruz’s reelection.
Because nothing convinces voters to vote for the other guy quite like making a royal nuisance of yourself.
Hat tip the Daily Caller.
