The Social Media Word Police

Word Police

I mentioned in the previous post that Brandon Straka, founder of the #WalkAway movement was suspended on Facebook.

Why?

He posted a link to his interview with Alex Jones and had the temerity to use the name Alex Jones in the post.

Seems rather remarkable, doesn’t it?

Facebook perma-banned Alex Jones and InfoWars, and other Facebook users aren’t permitted to even utter his name?

Come on.

Social Media has become the Word Police.

Which, to my thinking, doesn’t seem particularly social, does it?

But Facebook isn’t the only social media Word Police on the beat.

Twitter is right there with them.

“Illegal alien” has been flagged by the Word Police.

And that’s all kinds of ironic because, well…

For years the Left has tried to control culture and messaging by controlling language.

This is nothing new.

Gay marriage became “Marriage Equality.”

Illegal aliens became “Undocumented Immigrants” or worse “Undocumented Americans.”

Censorship became “Conversational Health.”

But what’s happening with the tech monopolies is so much more insidious than that.

Trust me, they won’t stop until they regain power and can turn the Federal Government into the Word Police as well.

Do these people actually think that it makes them look good when they ban things all of a sudden or do they think nobody is supposed to notice that something Insidious is going on?

Hell,it’s not that hard to get suspended from Facebook. I made a comment referring to the natives in South Africa that were murdering white farmers to steal their land as “savages.” That was considered hate speech and got me suspended.

You were obviously absent from today’s Two Minutes Hate.

Attendance at Two Minutes Hate sessions is mandatory. This is your first warning.
