Back in 2009, a contributor to American Thinker who went by Robin of Berkeley wrote a column titled “The Wilding of Sarah Palin.”
It’s no longer in AT’s archives, but you can read it in its entirety at Free Republic.
Robin of Berkeley – a former Liberal – discovered the hard way that it was the Left, not the Right, that reveled in misogyny.
Mind you, this column is from nine years ago.
But here’s some of how she described this rhetorical wilding that was directed at Sarah Palin.
And while you read it consider what is happening to Ivanka Trump. But not just to her – to every woman who is not on the Left:
Then along came Sarah, and the attacks became particularly heinous. And I realized something even more chilling about the Left. Leftists not only sacrifice and disrespect women, but it’s far worse: many are perpetuators.
The Left’s behavior towards Palin is not politics as usual. By their laser-focus on her body and her sexuality, leftists are defiling her.
They are wilding her. And they do this with the full knowledge and complicity of the White House.
The Left has declared war on Palin because she threatens their existence. Liberals need women dependent and scared so that women, like blacks, will vote Democrat.
A strong, self-sufficient woman, Palin eschews liberal protection. Drop her off in the Alaskan bush and she’ll survive just fine, thank you very much. Palin doesn’t need or want anything from liberals — not hate crimes legislation that coddles her, and not abortion, which she abhors.
Palin is a woman of deep and abiding faith. She takes no marching orders from messiah-like wannabes like Obama.
And so the Left must try to destroy her. And they are doing this in the most malicious of ways: by symbolically raping her.
Just like a perpetuator, they dehumanize her by objectifying her body. They undress her with their eyes.
They turn her into a piece of ass.
Liberals do this by calling her a c__t, ogling her legs, demeaning her with names like “slutty flight attendant” and “Trailer Park Barbie,” and exposing her flesh on the cover of Newsweek.
And from Atlantic Magazine’s Andrew Sullivan: “Sarah Palin’s vagina is the font of all evil in the galaxy.”
Nothing is off-limits, not actress Sandra Bernhard’s wish that Palin be gang-raped or the sexualization of Palin’s daughters.
This is precisely what we’re seeing unfold now – a wilding, a rhetorical sexual assault of Ivanka Trump.
But she’s not even the first target of this symbolic rape this year. Just ask Dana Loesch.
Back in 1980s, Jodi Foster did a film called “The Accused.”
In it she plays a young woman who was brutally gang raped while in a bar. And with the help of a woman prosecutor (played by Kelly McGillis), not only are the rapists brought up on charges, but crowd of men who cheered on it on are also charged.
When it came out on VHS, my ex-husband — a Leftist in good standing — rented it. And I don’t know what I found more disturbing, the rape scene on video or how eagerly entertained by it my ex-husband was.
I walked out of the house.
[I think you get an idea why the use of “ex” precedes “husband” here, don’t you?]
What’s happening to Ivanka Trump is a virtual version of that unwatchable scene.
And, like with Sarah Palin and Dana Loesch, it isn’t just being perpetrated by anonymous trolls on Twitter.
It is being mainstreamed – broadcast on the air to jeering laughter and cheers.
It is being defended by major news publications and networks — not to mention both male and female Hollywood celebrities.

That was the wrong word for Samantha Bee to have used . But mostly because ( to paraphrase the French ) Ivanka has neither the warmth nor the depth.

Ivanka legitimized trump by being pretty & seeming sane, & libs created a (kinda sexist) Rapunzel narrative that she was ‘trapped’. She’s from a crime family, she married into a crime family, she’s a grown up. She will do as much damage as she can get away with. Sam was too kind.

HA! Okay…best tweet of the day young lady.

They laugh and they jeer.
They hungrily applaud the wilding of Ivanka Trump.
And they proudly, self-righteously declare that the “bitch deserves it.”
Because watching a woman sexualized and demeaned entertains them – the same way those men in that movie were entertained by the gang rape of Jodi Foster’s character.
They have no decency, no moral compass.
For all their pearl-clutching over “misogyny” and the “rape culture,” they are purveyors of it.
When virtual wilding is not only permitted but applauded there is no going back.
The veil was stripped away long ago.
And the hate and evil is out there for the world to see.
Sure, they may very well believe that “love trumps hate.”
But for now they’re having far too much fun embracing hate to even put that to a test.
