Some thoughts on Matt Lauer

I’m going on very little sleep today thanks to the Lupus Bitch Attack. As a result, I’m a little late in getting started. So my apologies for that.

But I do want to say a few things about last night’s startling news about the termination of Matt Lauer.

Something tells me that NBC News didn’t just learn about his “sexually inappropriate behavior.”

My guess is Lauer’s behavior was – like all the rest – an “open secret.”

And though Savannah Guthrie expressed her shock and heartbreak over learning the news, I kinda doubt it came as a surprise to her.

Unless Savannah’s brain is the densest substance since mercury.

The problem with television “news” personalities is they are celebrities first and journalists only occasionally.

And in this society celebrities are afforded a certain level of latitude in behavior that ordinary folks like you and I are not.

In fact, wasn’t that the whole point of what Donald Trump told Billy Bush on the Access Hollywood tape?

When you’re a celebrity, you can get away with just about anything.

And how many times in the last couple of months have celebrities proven Donald Trump was right?

In the case of Matt Lauer, we’re not just talking about a little slap and tickle.

According to the New York Post, Lauer has been accused of raping an NBC employee while at the Sochi Olympics in 2014.

The likelihood that in the intervening three years nobody knew about that seems slim if you ask me.

And just like Cokie Roberts fessing up to knowing about pervy John Conyers for years, I’m guessing Matt Lauer’s colleagues were well aware of his behavior.

But Lauer’s position and power at NBC was enough to frighten those women into silence.

I’m guessing Savannah Guthrie will eventually confess to knowing all about it – just like Cokie Roberts did about John Conyers.

See, this is the problem with being a part of the elite media establishment.

You’re protected no matter what you do. And you’re protected by very powerful people.

Because you are one of them.

The truth is this “#MeToo” campaign has spiraled out of control.

And by that I mean that the Leftist women who started this never took the time to think it through. It never occurred to them that it would bite their side in the ass big league.

Al Franken, John Conyers, Matt Lauer – the wrong people are getting caught in this net.

And the result is that many of the same Leftist women who advanced this “#MeToo” movement are getting caught poo-pooing or defending these men.

The “#MeToo” movement struck a match and accidentally started a forest fire.

And the very people they shielded for years are the ones getting burned.

This is the exact same thing that happened to the Left with the term “Fake News.”

They started the drumbeat over fake news in order to destroy the conservative new media.

But they lost control of the narrative and now they’re the ones being roasted as “Fake News.”

The problem with the media and political elite is their glaring lack of self-awareness coupled with their penchant for projection.

They always blame the other side for the very thing they are guilty of.

I think the main reason the networks and cable news channels were reticent to delve into Harvey Weinstein’s three decades of pervy behavior is because they knew that their own people didn’t have clean hands.

If there is such a thing as “privilege” in our society today, it isn’t “white privilege.”

Instead it is Elite Privilege.

If you run in the right circles and hold the right political and ideological beliefs, you can get away with anything.

And they have gotten away with it, haven’t they?

Our so-called “social betters” are really despicable people.

And that is exactly what is being exposed here.

Rush had a audio clip today from Katie Couric, “What’s Matt Lauer’s most annoying habit?” Katie replied: “He keeps pinching my ass.”

Matt Lauer, liberal foot soldier in the “war on women.” You’re right, Dianny, “Who knew?” besides EVERYONE!

    Well said Dianny!

I also can’t help but wonder if this a result of rabid feminism. These rabid feminists wanted an all access card, equal in ways that aren’t really possible. They created a climate of ‘one of the guys’ and got more than they bargained for. It certainly is the result of rabid leftism replete with its fluid morality.

One thing for certain though is all of this explains the rabidity of these moonbats and their accusations. In their world men behave like asshats so they think everyone behaves like that. They need to have their bubbles popped immediately.
