We’re Team Deplorable, not Team Eeyore

Team Eeyore

You’re kidding me, right? President Trump signs a lard-infested spending bill and suddenly all is lost?

Wow. I haven’t seen this level of whining, complaining and defeatism since the NeverTrump movement during the election.

I referred to those grumpy uglies as Team Eeyore.

Team Eeyore spent the summer and fall of 2016 pouting and complaining that all was lost. Hillary was going to win in a landslide and it was all our fault for nominating Donald Trump.

And when Hillary won – and trust them, she was going to win — those on Team Eeyore were never going to forgive us. It was going to be our fault, not their fault that Hillary was President.

In August of 2016, in my column A Bad Case of the Grumpy Uglies, I wrote:

Whenever Trump supporters have reason to celebrate, the #NeverTrumpers mope in, drop their pants and shit on the cake.

They can’t help themselves.

Team Eeyore has got a case of the Grumpy Uglies.

If you point out polling that shows Hillary’s lead has all but evaporated, in come the #NeverTrumpers dragging their soaking wet blanket behind them.

“Trump’s already lost this. His campaign is in shambles.”

“Hillary’s gonna win in a landslide. Trump’s campaign is a joke.”

Is their blood-sugar low?

Do they need a Snicker’s Bar?!

The only time I see them brimming with excitement is when Hillary is doing well in the polls.

Do they want Trump to lose?

Yes! They do!

Now, I know you guys are pissed over Trump signing that crap-pile Omnibus bill. I’m pissed too.

But in the last day, I’ve watched so many Trump supporters jettison Team Deplorable to huffily join Team Eeyore.

Did you all start eating soy?

What’s wrong with you?

For the entire duration of the election, the Enslaved Press tried to dispirit Trump voters. And they couldn’t do it.

Team Eeyore tried to dispirit Trump voters. And they failed.

The Democrats in Congress, the Obama FBI and DOJ tried to destroy our President, and they failed.

Now some of you seem hell-bent on dispiriting yourselves and destroying the MAGA movement — all because of this Omnibus billl.

”Oh, it’s over. We’re going to lose the midterms. Trump is a one-term President and he’s going to be impeached. We might as well stay home in November.”

Suck it up, buttercup!

For crying out loud. Get a backbone.

How can you expect the MAGA Movement to prevail if you give up this easily?

We’re Team Deplorable, not Team Eeyore.

If you want to give up after one set-back, go join Bill Kristol on his next NeverTrump cruise.

But if you’re a Deplorable, act like one.

That doesn’t mean you can’t be frustrated or angry over Trump signing this Omnibus bill. We’re not blind sheep or mindless drones after all.

It’s irritating that the only way we could get defense spending increases and border enforcement increases was to let the Democrats lard up this bill.

And we have reason to hate the disgusting way the Republicans let the Democrats lead them by the nose.

But we’re Team Deplorable, not Team Eeyore. We don’t let one let-down derail us.

That’s what the Surrender Party does.

And how the hell can we vote out the Surrender Party from Congress if we surrender just like them?

It took decades for the swamp to fill.

And it may very well take decades to drain it.

Those who are joining Team Eeyore seem to think it would all be drained by now. And President Trump signing this crap-pile bill is all the proof they need to say he isn’t going to drain it. So they’ve given up.

In other words, they’re doing exactly what the NeverTrump people did during the election. They knew Hillary would win. And they knew it was Trump’s fault that Hillary would win.

How’d that work out for them? Did Hillary win?

Team Deplorable aren’t fair-weather fans who bail at the first loss.

We’re fighters.

It’s “Make America Great Again” — not “Make America Great Again … unless it gets hard, then never mind.”

After what we’ve put up with over the last couple years, we should be made of tougher stuff than Team Eeyore.

Remember we defied all the “smart people” in 2016. We refused to let them dispirit us or knock us off course.

In early January 2017, in a column titled Don’t mistake winning a battle for winning the war, I cautioned Team Deplorable of the fights we had in front of us:

If we look at Donald Trump’s victory as winning the war, we’re going to lose and lose big.

I actually had a reader on Facebook tell me to stop writing about Obama. Stop writing about these Leftist celebrities. Trump won. We don’t need to bother with them anymore.

That’s acting like you’ve won the war when you’ve only won a battle.

Yeah, it’s true. We won.

But the Left hasn’t surrendered. They haven’t conceded anything.

Just look at what happened after November 8.

Trump’s victory wasn’t even 24-hours old and the Left was already fighting back.

They rioted in the streets, began threatening Electors and demanding recounts.

They are doing everything they can to delegitimize Donald Trump’s victory.

And what’s Obama planning for this week?

He’s going to be huddling with Congressional Democrats planning the counterattack to defend Obamacare.

When your adversary is the Institutional Left, you can never rest on your laurels.

Not ever.

We on Team Deplorable have to keep pushing forward. Yes, we will win some battles — and we have. And, sadly, we will lose some battles.

But the war to restore this Republic rages on.

We can’t throw up our hands, sign on to Team Eeyore and simply surrender.

I couldn’t have said it better.

We’re not Team Eeyore.

We’re Team Deplorable.

The solution here isn’t to abandon the MAGA movement and crawl into a hole and give up.

You think I like watching Chuck and Nancy take a victory lap? I hate it.

But here’s the little secret about the Democrats. They make their biggest mistakes when they’re cocky and arrogant.

Now isn’t the time to throw up our hands and give up.

Instead, now is the time to fight even harder – to make Nancy and Chuck choke on their arrogant bragging. We can make sure those words curdle in their mouths like month-old milk.

We’re on the right side here. And the only way for us to lose is if we surrender.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not willing to surrender this country, our Constitution and our Freedoms just because we lost one battle.

We have an enemy that hates America and wants to destroy it from within.

And the only way to defeat them is to never give up, never surrender — and never stop being the Deplorable fighters we are.

Sorry, but it wasn’t a single loss: there are many, many losses in this shit show of a bill. It was buckshot.

No, I didn’t say to give up. I’m trying to describe just how bad this really is. Can we have a few days to be pissed? And that means chewing Trump out, too. He deserves it. No need to label, Dianny.

And just how f*cking old will you feel when the Left defeats this country? Some things are worth fighting for. And America is most definitely one of them. Lying down and letting the Left defeat us won’t make you feel any younger.

This is why I hate Trump supporters. They’re more fickle than the resistance. All hope is lost every time Trump does something they don’t agree with.
He made mistakes, but I still support him and will continue to support him for his eight years as President.
And all these babies will be back on the Trump train by monday.

Thank you! I was a Cruz supporter till I had to become a Trump supporter. I’ve been more than happy with Trump, he truly has done a great job as our President! Yes, I was mad when Trump signed this bill, but I’m ok with it. How many dang times did we give GW and these republican rinos a chance in DC? Too many to count. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER! Trump, has crapped on us one time! One time and all the sudden people want to abandon ship and go find a safe space to hide in. NO frigging thank you! One battle lost is not going to push me off my rocker and into the never trump or democrat snowflake lounge. Our problem is we got lazy and expected him to do it all for us. We sat around enjoying the victories with him, of which there were many! He’s done more for us in a year than GW did for us in 8 years. We didn’t expect him to be perfect in his personal life, so why did we assume he would be perfect as the President? What the president needs are fighters, not whiners. General Patton was a great man, an excellent fighter, but he needed an Army behind him to beat the bad guys. If we can’t stand up with our President and fight than the swamp will always win every danged battle. We can’t expect him to take personal hit after personal hit, his kids harassed and his business hurt just so we can have a good laugh at the dems while the President takes all the jabs! We either stand up with him and fight it out alongside him or we put on a pink knitted pussy hat and start screaming at the sky.
I’m not going to give up on Trump after one disaster. Because I truly believe he felt he had no choice. He didn’t look like a guy that was giddily getting what he wanted and ignoring us in the process. He looked disgusted and pissed yesterday. That’s not a look I’ve ever seen on his face before. I have a feeling this is the start of the real war my friends. Trump is going to come back and there will be hell to pay in the swamp. Heaven help the dc establishment, because I don’t think Trump will take captors.

OK DJT isn’t perfect and can’t deliver a perfect chocolate cream pie. He sees our biggest problem is a military screwed over by Obama. The rest the GOPee screwed him over. He had to prioritize. He has a government to run.

Give up? Sure. What Obummer did to healthcare, Biden can do with the rest of your life. You think it’s hard to fight now? Just wait ’til every move you make is tracked in order to “collect tolls.”

Maybe if we let them take our assault rifles they’ll be nice to us then. It only makes sense. And I’m sure the Islamists wouldn’t even notice.

Think “Jews before Auschwitz.” It’s a lot easier to resist before you’re behind the barbed wire. Too dramatic? History repeats!

I kinda /sorta wonder if Trumps newest ban on Trannies in the military might be a bit of payback.

    I know, silly thought

But on the serious side, dang straight I am disappointed with Trump but I am not going to give up.

I’d like to share a couple Frank Herbert quotes for your perusal:

“Show me a completely smooth operation and I’ll show you someone who’s covering mistakes. Real boats rock.”
    ― Frank Herbert, Chapterhouse: Dune

“How persistent it is, this demand that our gods be perfect. The Greeks were much more reasonable about such things.”
― Frank Herbert, God Emperor of Dune

I would submit that we have this persistent demand that out leaders be perfect. Sadly, ALL leaders have flaws!

And it could be worse – we could have had Hillary…….

    Just sayin’…..

Well, I don’t really have to do any holding together, now that I figured out what Trump is up to. He is shaking things out, but counting on Trump gravity to pull things back together as he moves along. He is moving “forward” at speeds Obama could not even dream of.
You and I will be anti-Trump trolls one day and MAGA heroes the next. Get used to it. Trump speed is the new normal. Some will call it flip-flopping, but that’s not what it is. Trump is dodging and weaving through reality faster than the reality can react to disrupt his plans.
I was explaining this to my wife. This is a roller-coaster now. Trump is no longer waiting for people to keep up. He is taking his bewildering art-of-the-deal campaign schtick into geopolitics, and for a lot of people who can’t keep up or hold on, it will be a rough ride.
Trump is no longer playing only with evil and cunning players who are still predictable, easily beatable dopes, like Hillary. He is playing against killers, with his own team of killers, and all the while he has scheming creeps like Hillary, BGI, SPLC, and the neocons gunning for him. Snake Ryan ready to bite when nobody is looking. “Warhead” McCain screaming for Russian blood. Psycho Kim and Samoa Obama plotting some kind of intrigue to take him down. And THOSE are the lightweights.
This is the majors now. Trump has to outwit world-class adversaries and “frenemies” by defining the deals that they will agree to. One minute they will think Trump is their friend – the next minute, a cunning, bitter foe. And he has to do this with evil cheerleaders like Warhead, Linderace, Dipsy Dowd, Maggie Haterman, and Fake Yapper trashing him or praising him alternately, no matter which way he goes. They can’t keep up, either.
Neither can many around him. I think that half of the problem with advisers crashing into each other is they don’t realize what Trump is doing.
And people will trash you, and they will trash me. Get used to it. I’ve already caught plenty of people mocking me. Well, just wait a week in Trump time. Look stupid and conned by Trump one minute, and you look like a sage three days later.
Trump will not find perfect solutions. He will find OPTIMAL solutions. We cannot ask for more. Trump has stood by and watched Perfect murder Good for 8 years – maybe longer. He’s not gonna do it. He’s going to deliver the best outcome possible, and he’s not waiting for us to feel relaxed about it.
Best presidency ever! Just hang on. More winning is coming, but a lot of people are going to scream that it’s all over at EVERY turn.
The best way through this is to define viewpoints, not people, because people will shift as they change position and velocity in Trump gravity. Bash the neocon, warmonger, and dopey globalist positions – not the people who are going to hold them one moment and come loose from them later. Trump is Jupiter moving through the asteroid belt. He is going to pull people into his orbit. A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.
I am ON the Trump Train for good, even if I scream that I want off and can’t take it. In the end, I only want to scream “TOO MUCH WINNING!!!” ?

There is no denying that Trump screwed up big time. The mistake a lot of Trump supporters made was to put him on a pedestal. In that they were no better than Obama’s supporters.

I am a Trump supporter and I am not giving up on him quite yet. But when I voted for him I remembered that he is human and will make mistakes. And, yes, he made a YUUUUUGE one Friday!

I do wish he hadn’t signed that blighter but done is done. How I will regard Trump will be based on what he does in the future. Like I said, I am not giving up on him quite yet.

Trump was put between a rock and a hard place on this. but trump has time to win us back, you want to know who doesn’t? congress……

I have a list of congressmen whom voted for this, and whom voted for the crappiest obamacare repeal bill last summer. I do not count the skinny repeal, im talking about last summers monstrosity bill. We need to primary out each and every one of them whom is running for re election. Dont believe the BS incumbents say about the other side taking the house or senate just because we bring in a wave of new fresh blood, they only say that to keep their jobs.

I ask 2 things of my fellow trump supporters, 1 give trump time to win you back, 2 dont give that time to congress.

We have as much blood on our hands as trump does when it comes to this bill, we voted for the likes of ryan to win reelection, mcconnell, various others that weve KNOWN for the better part of 2 decades were dirty. This if anything, is more on us than it is trump.

This bill HAS to be our motivation for the PRIMARIES and then the general election.

I do not own a crystal ball, but let me tell what my largest fear is. I am seeing a lot of people fed up with the mind numb politicians inside the beltway. These people have been coming out to vote and working on registration drives all across the country. Mr Trump has let a huge amount of these people down. I hope I am wrong but in enough of them go into punish mode and stay home in November it might change the outcome. I have always said the mid terms were the GOPs to lose. With this monster they might well have snatched defeat right out of the hands of victory. Gosh I hope I am wrong.

s right. You know what, you can’t even be sure this wasn’t a setup all along, because you don’t really know what Trump is. You hope, you believe, well here’s a fact jack, he signed the bill after all the speeches and there’s no wall, and we’re funding every shit program in spades except the programs we voted for. 1 trillion a year interest payments on the debt payments are just about here. Did Truman say the buck stops here, or the buck stops with the house and senate leadership? You gonna get 60 in the senate next time, no, they gonna take your Trump donations and finance more rhinos? Yes they are. Ask the mayor of realville just how screwed we are.

President Trump is not a politician. He IS a master of diversion though. And there is a hell of a lot going on behind the curtain that we don’t see. Look at the MSM narrative: Prostitutes and Stormy Daniels, March for Our Lives “student grassroots” gun control march, Transgender ban in the military. Nothing about Trump creating a schism in (and the possible destruction of) the OIC by Saudi Arabia (Wahhabis at that!) allowing direct flights through their airspace to Israel. As for the Omnibus, let’s watch where the money is spent. You can rebuild the military to beyond it’s former strength AND throw in a border wall for $1.3 trillion.

I was a Cruz supporter before DT got the nomination because I knew his Conservative principles were solid. I had no such illusions about Trump, yet he has far exceeded my expectations this past year plus. I’m as pissed as anyone about this debt-boosting, crap-laden, Dem-wet-dream Omnibust bill. But Dianny’s right – what are we to do now? Go find a safe space to crawl into and let the ProgTards & spineless RINO’s destroy our magnificent republic, unopposed? No Way!
I’ve been a Tea Party guy since we were knocking down doors in 2009 about HR3200 (the original House Obamacare bill). During the worst, while it looked like the Obama Regime was truly going to “Fundamentally Transform” our country into something unrecognizable, and all seemed hopeless, we Patriots had a few consistent themes.
    A) We must fight this garbage with all we have for the sake of our kids and grandkids.
    B) The Left has been waging this war to destroy our country for 100 years and it will likely take generations to get it back.
    C) Even if all our efforts prove useless and – God forbid – we actually lose this grand experiment is self-government, and one day when our grand children asked us, “Grandpa, what were you doing while they were taking away our freedom?”, we had to be able to answer that we fought like hell for them!.
Yes, we must let DT & the RINO “leadership” know in no uncertain terms how pissed we are about this crap-sandwich. We must fight against any more of it. But it changes nothing. We can never give up, because the forces of darkness will never quit. What choice do we have?

Right after signing the Omnibus bill, the President declared a Human Rights Emergency AND has notified Congress that he’s invoking the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985. That puts him in charge of how most of the $1.3 trillion will be spent. Congress, stop trying to play poker with this man.
