Buttigieg takes the Hillary route

Buttigieg takes the Hillary route

Clearly the Democrats learned absolutely nothing from Hillary Clinton’s disastrous “Basket of Deplorables” comment.

Two and a half years later and these guys still believe the way to win over voters is to insult them.

The latest candidate trying to out-deplorable Hillary is the Mayor of high crime South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg.

On NBC’s Meet the Press, Buttigieg decried the unbelievable hypocrisy of Christians who support President Donald Trump.

From Breitbart:

“It’s something that frustrates me because the hypocrisy is unbelievable. Here you have somebody that not only acts in a way that’s not consistent with anything I hear in scripture or church where it is about lifting up the least among us and taking care of strangers which is another word for immigrants, and making sure that you are focusing your efforts on the poor. Also personally how you’re supposed to conduct yourself, not chest pumping look at me-ism but humbling yourself among others. Foot washing is a central image in the New Testament. We see the diametric opposite of that in this presidency.”

Ah, yes.  I want a president to wash my feet.  That’s just the ticket!

In fact, I became a Christian because of all that foot-washing in the Bible.

It had nothing to do with the Word becoming flesh and dying for my sins; it was the ubiquitous image of foot-washing.  Good take, Pete!

But what Pete fails to acknowledge is because of President Trump, “the least of us” are enjoying economic prosperity unlike any we’ve seen in decades.  Do you think they are pissed because Trump isn’t also washing their feet?

The “least of us” also includes all those unborn babies whom Democrats are willing to kill up to the point where the doctor says, “Deep breath, and PUSH!” But Pete has no problem with the “least of us” being slaughtered just to make Planned Parenthood happy, is he?

Nothing like being called a hypocrite by a Democrat. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

But accusing Christian voters of being hypocrites sounds like a winning strategy to get their votes, Pete.  I say go with that.

After all, accusing us of being “deplorable” and “irredeemable” worked out great for Hillary, right?

It is odd, however.

Because Pete Buttigieg is gay.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

But since most Christians hold to the view that homosexuality is a sin, isn’t Pete banking on them voting for him despite that?  Wouldn’t that, in his words, be hypocritical?

And as I said, Pete Buttigieg is pro-abortion.

There’s plenty wrong with that.

Since Christians believe in the sanctity of life and oppose the wholesale slaughter of the unborn, isn’t Pete hoping they vote for him despite that?  Isn’t that unbelievably hypocritical, Pete?

We’re voting for the Chief Executive and Commander-in-Chief; we’re not Cardinals selecting a new pope

I don’t expect the President to be a saint.

And, if we’re going to compare resumes, there are some things I’ve done in my past before I became a Christian that would probably make Donald Trump blush.

As Paul said in Romans, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Perhaps if Paul tossed in something about foot-washing, Pete Buttigieg would be familiar with that passage.

What would be hypocritical is pretending that I am without sin and therefore can pass judgment on others for not being sinless.

You know, Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

That isn’t stopping Pete Buttigieg from loading up on rocks.

But here’s the thing: voters don’t want to vote for the guy who’s pelting them with rocks.

Hillary learned that the hard way the weekend of September 9, 2016.

Her snotty and condescending jabs at the American people doomed her candidacy.

You can never insult your way to victory.

And while Trump might skewer politicians, he never attacks, demeans or insults the American people.

Meanwhile, Democrats just can’t help themselves.  They are never satisfied simply attacking President Trump. No. They always have to turn their guns on us.

We’re deplorable.  We’re racists.  Heck, we’re even Nazis and White Supremacists.

And now, we’re a bunch of hypocrites.

At the end of the day, Buttigieg is like every other Democrat candidate – so angry that the country elected Donald Trump that he’s lashing out at the very people whose votes he needs to win.

But as I pointed out in January of 2018, it isn’t Trump they hate; they hate us.

They always have. It’s just that Trump’s election exposed that once and for all.

And because of their rabid anger at him, they no longer even attempt to disguise their utter disdain for us. So they attack us, insult us, pass judgment on us and then have the audacity to campaign for our votes.

I don’t know.  Call me old fashioned, but I just don’t see that as a winning strategy.

Poster Persecutor already said what I was thinking about that name …”Buttgig?”

And your quote…”And while Trump might skewer politicians, he never attacks, demeans or insults the American people.”

Which seems not to be the case with
    stink-O over there in Europe.
    What a loser.

That’s why I voted for Obama – because he humbled himself by washing the feet of the poor. [sarcasm off].

It is amazing how people who have lifestyles that go against common Christian values try to use Jesus, God, and the Scriptures to justify their “un-Godlike” views.

But wait a minute, isn’t President Trump washing the nation’s feet and far more? Didn’t he give up his carefree billionaire lifestyle to be insulted, accused of treason, threatened by our top intelligence agencies with life in solitary confinement like Manafort, have his family threatened with jail, have his and his families livelihood under constant attack, their lives threatened, and on and on? Washing feet is literally nothing to the Christian service that President Trump is performing for the poor and downtrodden of this nation who only want a job and not to be harassed by government regulations.

“The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!”

“Being gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that”. Actually, Dianny, there is something wrong with that. Your Creator, the author of Christianity, strictly forbids it and labels it an abomination. A Christian accepts the entire Bible as the inspired Word of God. “Cafeteria Christians” pick and chose what to believe, and disregard the rest. Stern warnings are given for those who add to, or subtract from, the Word. You profess to be a Christian. Stand up for your faith and speak Truth. Don’t cowtow to the crowd that is trying to push its twisted and perverted agenda.

Good grief. It was a joke. Clearly you’ve never seen “Seinfeld.”
