The Danger of Short-Sighted Thinking

Remember back in late 2011 when Occupy Wall Street erupted like a festering zit?

Sure you do!

Democrats tripped all over themselves to praise these brave young people. And the mainstream news media glamorized them.

In fact, Nancy Pelosi said of these unwashed, lice-infested cretins, “God bless them for their spontaneity. It’s independent … it’s young, it’s spontaneous, and it’s focused. And it’s going to be effective.”

That’s how you’d describe “Up with People,” not Occupy Wall Street.

But Nancy was right. It was effective.

Just not in the way she hoped.

Regular Americans saw these filthy, anti-Semitic louses and were disgusted by what they saw.

But then Democrats have always suffered from short-sighted thinking.

They see a largely manufactured “movement” and glom on immediately without taking the time to actually think it through.

And short-sighted thinking leads to long-term problems.

Occupy Wall Street was violent, filthy, and obscene. Women in these squatters’ encampments were getting raped. Drugs were rampant.

And much like Antifa, OWS embraced the tyranny of the mob.

In the first weekend of October 2011, seven hundred “protesters” were arrested by the NYPD for swarming the Brooklyn Bridge and shutting down traffic.

And that’s nothing compared to the cretins from Occupy Oakland.

But God bless them, right Nancy?

The Democrats were so desperate for their own Tea Party, they just attached themselves to the first putrid band of punks that happened by.

Likewise, the mainstream news media portrayed Occupy Wall Street as something noble and virtuous.

You know. Just like they’re doing with Antifa.

In fact, at the end of the article from CBS news about the seven hundred arrested in New York are links to two Occupy Wall Street websites. Apparently CBS wanted to act as OWS’s public relations firm.

You know. Just like CNN is doing for Antifa.

Embracing a fringe socialist movement did nothing to stem the electoral losses the Democrats suffered during Obama’s tenure in office.

And if Democrats weren’t crippled by short-sighted thinking, they would have been able to noodle that out before Nancy asked God to bless them.

Anyone with common sense could noodle that out.

But the Democrats are desperate to find something – anything – that will lift them out of the electoral freefall they find themselves in.

Oddly enough, the only group the Democrat Party will not embrace are regular, ordinary Americans who live their lives, mind their own business and never give any thought to whatever outrage du jour the Democrats decide to exploit.

And herein lies the problem for both the Democrat Party and the mainstream news media.

By rushing headlong to embrace the violent “alt-Left” radicals, they are claiming ownership of the radical fringe.

And that may work for Nancy Pelosi whose entire district is one great big fringe group. But it doesn’t help any Democrat from a more conservative or moderate district or state.

But because Nancy is a central spokesperson for the Democrats, her embrace of fringe groups inevitably will result in the Democrat Party being seen as the party of the radical fringe.

And let’s face it. As a general rule, Americans don’t particularly like fringe groups. Whether it’s the Klan, Black Lives Matter, White Supremacists, Antifa, Marxists, Occupy Wall Street – we’re pretty much turned off by all of them.

Democrats and the media are embracing a motley crew of angry, screaming socialists who throw their own feces and urine while beating the living crap out of an old woman because she was carrying an American flag.

And we watch this and our response is disgust.

But because of the Democrats’ short-sighted thinking, they never seem to grasp just how damaging it is to embrace the crazies.

After all, embracing the radical anti-war protesters of the 1960s hurt them. McGovern was so roundly defeated in 1972, it was downright embarrassing.

Embracing Occupy Wall Street hurt them.

And their unbridled support for Black Lives Matter while cities burned and police officers were executed really hurt them.

In fact, I’d venture the Democrats’ embrace of rioting and cop killing is one of the reasons Donald Trump won.

But instead of realizing that angry fringe groups hurt them, the Democrats just can’t help themselves.

They just keep embracing them.

After Hillary lost, they went all in with the Resistance^LOL. And as a result, they let themselves get sucked in to the conspiracy-laden hysteria over Russia.

And now that Russia is crumbling to pieces, they’ve decided to embrace the violent Antifa.

Believe me. This is going to blow up in their faces like a trick cigar.

The left will rue the day it made Antifa its heroes. Mark my words.

The Democrat Party is so far out of touch with the day-to-day concerns of ordinary Americans, they have no idea that embracing these radical fringe groups will be political suicide.

And because they lack the ability to think things through, they aren’t even aware that their teetering on the brink of collapse.
