Democrats hijack Independence Day to flog their agenda

I hope you all enjoyed your Independence Day.

I spent mine reading “American Assassin” by Vince Flynn and trying to keep an agitated pitbull from losing her marbles over the sound of fireworks.

This is Mary’s “I’m deeply distressed by the explosions and need to sit on your lap” face:

Nervous Independence Day

Fireworks never bothered her until four years ago when some folks up on the hill behind my house decided to shoot off rather large fireworks over my backyard. We were outside for potty time when one of them exploded about fifty feet above us. And as burning shrapnel rained down around us, my ordinarily brave pitbull nearly ran me over trying to get back into the house.

Since then Independence Day has been a real treat!

Any old how.

I happened onto Twitter last night and was surprised to discover that apparently some Democrats seem a wee bit confused over what event we celebrate on July Fourth.

It’s always amazing to me how Democrats put more stock in a poem written by Emma Lazarus than they do our own founding documents.

The Statue of Liberty was not given to us by the French to celebrate immigration, you blithering idiot.

It was a gift for our Centennial from an ally who fought alongside us in our war for Independence.

And the poem written by Emma Lazarus was composed as part of a private fundraiser to raise money for the statue’s pedestal.

“New Colossus” isn’t the Declaration of Independence.

Yet Democrats hold more reverence for the words of a poem written for a private fundraiser than they do their oath to uphold our Constitution.

Put it this way, this would be like making public policy by saying, “As the Youngbloods put it in 1967, ‘Come on people now. Smile on your brother. Everybody get together. Gonna love one another right now.’”

And, no, Kamala. This poem by Emma Lazarus is not “emblazoned” on the Statue of Liberty.

In 1903, after Lazarus died, her friend raised money to place a plaque within the pedestal “in loving memory of Emma Lazarus.”

But then again, Kamala isn’t exactly the brightest star in the firmament.

She tweeted that.

How is someone who travels from one part of the British Empire to another part of the British Empire an immigrant?

Who knows?

So long as Kamala can flog her pet agenda by hijacking Independence Day facts don’t matter.

And fortunately for her, History is the least-taught subject in public schools.

So chances are, the majority of people who follow her on Twitter don’t know any better.

Which, by the way, is what she’s banking on.

Now, I realize that Democrats have to use every national holiday to flog their political agenda.

But Independence Day is the day we celebrate our Declaration of Independence from England.

It isn’t the day we celebrate a poem written for a fundraiser.

And, while I’m on the subject, the Declaration of Independence isn’t the SCOTUS decision on Roe v. Wade.

It’s as if Democrats are hardwired to avoid celebrating the one thing we’re supposed to celebrate on July Fourth.

This is like going to a birthday party for someone named Steve and making a toast saying, “Today, I am celebrating Martin! He is an amazing man who has done so much. Three cheers for Martin!!!!”

They just can’t help themselves.

And sadly, none of this is surprising.

When you hate America as it was founded, I’m sure the idea of celebrating its Declaration of Independence sticks in your craw.

Is it any wonder so few of them are extremely proud to be an American?

Thinking of non issues and democratic hysteria, I started thinking of the new Supreme Court Justice.
I was wondering who the President will nominate, I want to ask you, if President Trump nominates another Gorsuch, do you think that will enrage the left so much that they’ll take back the Senate?
What are your thoughts on the next justice?

I believe that the dems will try to “bork” whoever the nominee is, and McConnell may or may not use the nuclear option depending on who it is

Dianny is a Twitter master. DANG!

I see once again we have Democrats violating civil rights in the name of their own special brand of civil rights. I guess they took “Animal Farm” not as an allegory but as fact.

P.S. I have one dog that doesn’t do July 4th well either.
