Democrats hope opposition to Tax Reform will lead to their own Tea Party uprising

Tea Party

The thing about Democrats that you have to understand is they are completely unoriginal.

But this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

When you’re out of ideas, the best you can hope for is cribbing off your opponent.

And that is exactly what the Democrats are hoping to do with this Tax Reform bill.

It’s hard to escape the breathless shrieking and hyperbolic nonsense that’s been kicked up to Spinal Tap 11 over the last three days.

And it’s all by design.

See, the Democrats are trying to recreate the same momentum the Tea Party brought to the 2010 Midterms for the Republicans.

And they really do believe they’ll get it by demagoguing the hell out of the Tax Bill.

But there’s just a few problems with their plan.

First of all, the Tea Party movement was not orchestrated by the Republicans in Congress.

True, they were the main beneficiaries. But they weren’t the ones leading the movement.

Ordinary, everyday folks who were watching their incomes stagnate, their taxes increase and the Government grow ever larger rose up and said, “Enough!”

Remember how it all began in 2009.

The Democrat super-majority pushed through a trillion-dollar spending package called the Stimulus – or the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

This garbage law took a trillion dollars out of the economy and then redistributed it to Democrat special interest groups, public employee unions and pet projects of the far Left.

And Americans were stuck with the bill.

The one thing the so-called Stimulus didn’t do was stimulate economic growth.

Then, while we were still reeling from that rancid pile of crap, the Democrats in Congress began the march to take over one-sixths of the economy through Obamacare.

We didn’t want it.

We demanded they not do it.

But they did it anyway.

So average, ordinary, everyday Americans rose up and fought back.

The outcome was the 2010 Democrat bloodbath in the House.

So along come the 2017 Democrats shrieking like unhinged lunatics about “millions will die!!!” and “this bill is the end of the world!!!”

And for some reason they think this hysteria will deliver for them the same kind of victory in 2018 that the Tea Party delivered for the Republicans in 2010.

But here’s the problem. Actually, there’s more than one problem.

First, at the end of the day, most people who vote are voting in their own interest.

And there’s nothing wrong with that.

People voted against the Democrats in 2010 because the Democrats destroyed the health insurance market and the healthcare industry.

We were angry over the Democrats approving a one trillion dollar spending bill that became a part of the baseline budget from that point on.

Too much of our money was being wasted while we watched our income stagnate and our taxes go up.

It was personal.

But the Democrats howling to the heavens that “millions will die” and a tax cut is “Armageddon” is not only mind-bogglingly over-the-top and nonsensical, it’s also something we can’t wrap our minds around.

Whereas saying, “instead of taking a sixty-four hundred dollar personal deduction on your EZ tax form, you can take twelve thousand” is something we can relate to.

And the Democrats shrieking that “millions will lose their health insurance” is not nearly as impactful as saying, “Now you personally won’t be forced to buy insurance against your will.”

But trust me. The Democrats really do believe that this cataclysmic, apocalyptic, over-the-top nonsense will appeal to individual voters.

And they couldn’t be more wrong.

Sure, their likeminded Leftist base will parrot the shrieking points.

But they need to sway those who are not already in lock-step with them.

And this won’t work.

The Tea Party appealed to your average working class American who just wants to live his life unmolested by government. It appealed to people who wanted to keep more of their own money.

But the Democrats are attacking the very things that appealed to the 2010 Midterm voters.

Another problem with this idiotic plan is obvious – and something I’ve talked about often.

And that’s the Democrat Party’s propensity to push too hard and too far.

Just look at their arguments against tax reform.

The Tea Party movement kept it personal – specifically, how Obamacare and the Stimulus effect your finances and your personal choices.

We didn’t shriek about Armageddon or claim that tens of millions would die.

The Tea Party didn’t push too hard and too far.

Instead, we kept it simple and down-to-earth. More importantly, our criticisms were based on reality not hyperventilating hyperbole.

The Democrats are acting like psychopathic nutcases.

And most people are afraid of the crazy.

The final problem is this.

The Tea Party was a ground-up, grassroots movement consisting of people who never got this involved in politics, protests, rallies, or town hall meetings. It bubbled up from the bottom.

But this so-called #TaxScam nonsense is a top-down orchestrated campaign directed by the Democrat leadership in Congress, funded by wealthy Leftist organizations and given ample assistance by a compliant media.

The same media that insulted, attacked and vilified the Tea Party movement.

In other words, it is at its core classic Astroturf.

The same kind of Astroturf that tried to destroy Donald Trump’s candidacy.

And the same Astroturf that has fought his agenda for nearly a year.

This “same old, same old” hysteria may play well among the Democrat Party’s dwindling base in the metropolitan areas.

But it will do nothing to broaden their appeal throughout the rest of the country.

“The Tea Party was a ground-up, grassroots movement consisting of people who never got this involved in politics, protests, rallies, or town hall meetings. It bubbled up from the bottom. “

And how appalling was it to witness the mockery, the beatings and “teabagger” insults to those everyday concerned citizens?
Good, sensible people who were merely exercising their freedom to speak up on issues that have since been exposed as governmental power grabs?
Then, to hear it brought forward years later, culminating in being called “deplorable” for even daring to disagree?
    As always, leftists disgust me.

I’m curious. Was Nancy “Stretch” Pelosi able to say “Armageddon” without dropping her teeth?

When a party has no theme, morals or effective leadership they can only scream sensational insults and obstruct progress.

Blue states (and having just moved from one I know this) are really going to figure out just how much they pay in taxes with very little return.
