DIANNY RANTS: We Have Ceased to Matter
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.– That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.–Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
Our nation was founded on the principle that government derives its powers from the consent of the people.
We the People founded a system that was rooted in self-government. We were to govern ourselves, not be governed over.
This is no longer the case.
We have ceased to matter.
Government has become separate from the people — no longer deriving its power from our consent. Because we have ceased to matter.
Elections — the cornerstone of our consent — have ceased to matter.
We went to the polls in November motivated almost solely by our desire to stop a lawless tyrant from further destroying our nation, from further ignoring the consent of the governed and the will of the people.
We put in place a Republican majority in the US Senate for this very purpose.
And what have they done?
This new Republican majority has chosen instead to ignore the will of the very people from whom they derive their power. They have chosen instead to destroy themselves and their role in our government. They have surrendered to this Tyranny.
We have ceased to matter.
We are seeing once again a “long train of abuses and usurpations.” We are being dragged once again into Despotism.
There is no place in our Federal Government for the people.
We have ceased to matter.
Our demands.
Our will.
Our consent.
Our lives.
Our Liberty.
Our individual sovereignty.
Gone.
This isn’t hyperbole.
This is reality.
We have become, as de Tocqueville warned “nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.” We are moved and shoved hither and yon.
Buy this or else! Do this or else! Don’t do this or else! Don’t say this or else! Eat this and don’t eat that! Pay this! Fund that! Keep silent!
Or, as de Tocqueville put it, “The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting.”
Sovereign Individuals?
Not anymore.
And where are the brave Republicans who campaigned on restoring our Constitution and respecting the will of the people?
Where are they?
They have surrendered.
Congress as it was designed in Article One of the Constitution has ceased to exist. Not because it was conquered. But because they surrendered willingly.
They refuse to defend the Separation of Powers.
They refuse to use the Power of the Purse.
They refuse to defend their own authority.
They refuse to obey the will of People.
We have ceased to matter.
And where are the Republicans? Why, they’re quietly toiling away, making plans for the 2016 Presidential Election, indifferent to the fact that the current President is destroying our Republic.
We the People are no longer sovereign.
Our work, our property, our lives, our income, our earnings, our voice. None of these belong to us anymore.
We have been subjugated.
Your money doesn’t belong to you.
Your property doesn’t belong to you.
Your God-given Rights have been taken by this Government.
And you, all of you, all of us, We the People, are paying the bill for our own subjugation.
We have ceased to matter.
Only our substance, our earnings, our money matters to them.
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
That time, that course of human events, has come again.
We are no longer self-governing.
This Leviathan, this entity that sucks us dry, eats out our substance, has become a Power, not derived from us, but lorded over us.
We are being crushed under the weight of it.
This is Barack Hussein Obama’s Fundamental Transformation.
This is it.
To remove from the People all sovereignty. To take from the People all property. To subjugate the People to Government.
To ignore the Will of the People and force the People to do Government’s Will.
And on our backs, this Leviathan grows.
This is the Obama Legacy.
This is the monument of Obama’s Presidency.
And the branch of Government that is to answer directly to the People answers instead to Obama.
Because we have ceased to matter.
We demand. They ignore.
We cry out. They turn away.
Is it cowardice? Or is it complicity?
Does it matter?
The end result is the same.
This nation’s government, founded on the principle of Individual Sovereignty and Liberty has become an entity solely apart from us. And this entity feeds on us like a parasite.
Our founders believed that it is our right and our duty to throw off such government. They believed it is our right and our duty to provide new guards for our future security.
This Beast, this Leviathan, this Federal Government, may believe we have ceased to matter. It may act under the notion that we have ceased to matter.
But the power that comes from Sovereign Individuals is far greater than the power of Despots.
It is what beat back tyranny 240 years ago. It is what fueled the founding of this Republic.
It is power that comes from Nature and Nature’s God.
It is time we showed these Tyrants the power of Liberty, the strength that comes from Sovereign Individuals. Because without us, they are nothing.
