Do they not teach Logic anymore?
I’ve noticed a growing crop of “just out of college” Conservative “intellectuals” who oftentimes don’t seem to know what the heck they’re talking about.
And just like the millennial Big Brains on the Left, these Conservative youngsters may not be the brightest stars in the firmament, but boy, howdy, do they have an ego as big as all outdoors.
Maybe it’s because I’m in my fifties but I find their arrogance and ignorance rather comical in a “bless their hearts” kind of way.
Let me give you the latest example.
Tiana here appears to be a protégé of the insufferable NeverTrumper David French from National Review.
And what I find remarkable about this tweet is Tiana actually thinks she’s making an excellent point.
Well, she is making an excellent point – just not the excellent point she thinks she’s making.
See, when I read these statistics, logic tells me the reason most of the drugs at points of entry get seized is because legal points of entry are the most carefully secured and protected.
And, likewise, logic tells me that the reason we don’t seize as much at illegal crossing points is because the illegal crossing points are not adequately secured.
You know, like with a wall.
And because we currently have not adequately secured our porous border, traffickers can exploit that weakness to get their drugs across with far less risk of seizure.
The fact is, we have a serious drug epidemic in the US.
And it is reasonable to conclude that this epidemic isn’t caused by the drugs being seized at the border, but by the drugs that don’t get seized.
Do they not teach logic in schools anymore?
How about common sense?
Citing the fact that the majority of drug seizures occur in places that are heavily secured doesn’t in any way PROVE that no drugs are coming across the border at unsecured locations.
If anything, it indicates that these unsecured locations might make for excellent points of crossing for drug traffickers to exploit.
The amount of drugs seized does not in any way determine the amount that gets through without a hitch.
And, as I said, we have a drug epidemic in this country, so clearly drugs are getting through without a hitch.
That’s something that anyone employing logic and common sense could noodle out.
But not Tiana.
For the life of me, I do not understand the argument she’s trying to make. That the stuff crossing illegally and not a points of entry isn’t getting caught? Seems to me her point proves her argument is specious. But what do I know. I’m not a recent college grad.

Logic dictates that drugs have a harder time coming across at legal points of entry. It also dictates that traffickers would choose a route that would be met with far less resistance.
So perhaps the solution is to ensure that our entire border is as secure as these points of entry.
And constructing a barrier and employing the other methods recommended by Border Patrol would go a long way to making that happen.
It really is as simple as that.
Now I expect Democrats to jettison logic, reason and common sense.
But it’s astonishing to me how willing NeverTrump conservatives are to jettison them as well.
I realize they despise President Trump.
Likewise, I understand that they object to his declaring a national emergency in order to free up the money to fully secure our border.
But with this tweet, Tiana is, in fact, making the President’s case for him.
The good news is, not every young conservative is this willfully blind.
In fact, even smart conservatives with only one eye can see things better than Tiana.

The House Dems bought into all of these false statistics, hook, line and sinker, as it serves there purpose of preserving open borders with no passport control.
Running Law Enforcement Ops in the Caribbean, the cartels would push out small boats over laden with shit weed and starving people that we would have to interdict and provide food, clothing, medical and transport to safe harbour while the big boat full of drugs got by. I am sure the same thing happens here. Running trains of drugs through the transport corridors while pushing tons of mules through small gaps. Give everyone involved a warm fuzzy of busting lots of big drug shipments and getting alot through at the same time.
Has Pelosi been to the southern border to see this manufactured crisis for herself?
Just curious. She acts so knowledgeable about it.
