Don’t go to college

It’s that time of the year when young people pack their bags and head off to college. While they look ahead with eager anticipation, Mom and Dad kiss their children goodbye — frozen smiles on their faces as they cringe on the inside at just how useless that college fund was at paying for this Ponzi Scheme.

Not long ago, I was chatting with a young man who will be a high school senior this year and I asked him about his college plans.

He told me he wasn’t sure where he was going, so I gave him some unsolicited advice.

“Don’t bother going at all.”

Naturally, I coupled that advice with the caveat, “But don’t tell your mom I said that.”

College is the biggest waste of money since the invention of the Pet Rock.

Personally, I think if you want to learn something valuable, learn a trade. Plumbing, HVAC repair, engine repair.

Good gracious. Practically everyone owns a car and virtually nobody can afford to buy a new one. If you learn how to fix engines, you’re set for life.

In one quarter the time and for one tenth the cost, your future career would be lucrative enough for you to afford a home of your own within a decade.

And the best part is, there will be no crippling six-figure student loan debt still looming over you when you reach retirement age.

College is a racket.

There is no such thing as market-based pricing. Why should there be? The Federal Government is guaranteeing student loans. Which means even if the graduate defaults, the colleges will still get their money.

It’s a win/win for colleges and universities to keep jacking up the price.

And what do you get out of it?

Endless lectures about “White Privilege” and “Gender studies.”

Angry harangues from overpaid professors about the evils of America.

Honestly, why pay so much money to a college to be abused on a regular basis? If you want to pay for that kind of abuse, go to a dominatrix. It’s cheaper.

Actually, you can get that kind of sanctimonious browbeating just by spending one evening a week at some vegan restaurant near a college campus. All you have to do is show up in a Make America Great Again hat and order a medium/rare steak and the other patrons and staff will take it from there.

Unless your lifelong dream is to go into law, medicine, engineering or science, why waste thirty or forty thousand dollars a year in college?

You can be berated and shamed for free just by going to the comments section of a Leftist website.

If you want to “find yourself” and “figure out what you want to do with your life,” there are ways to do it that won’t cost you what most people spent on their first home.

How about getting a job. Any job. You’d develop a work ethic, get some grasp of responsibility, learn how to save and manage money, interact with actual human beings — the benefits are endless.

I guarantee you, in four years, you will be better positioned for adulthood than your peers who are studying “Feminism & Privilege” or “Pan-African Lactose-Intolerant Gay Poets of the Twentieth Century.”

Colleges lost their usefulness about the same time they stopped respecting individual liberty, freedom of speech and differences of opinion.

Poor Little Snowflakes

If an entire generation of high school graduates gave colleges the big heave-ho, I imagine that not only would the median income of that generation increase, but their collective IQ would as well.

And for those of you who actually long for the opportunity to be brainwashed and indoctrinated, there’s no need to go into life-long debt to do it.

Just join a frickin’ cult. They’ll feed you, clothe you, house you, and turn you against your family for a fraction of the cost.

The days when the college educated were better positioned for the future are over.

Stop feeding the beast. Don’t fall for the con.

Don’t go to college.

And go ahead. Tell your mother I said that.

If a HS grad has a father rich enough to send him/ her to college, he / she would be better off working for daddy and taking over the business. College will only screw you up to the point that you won’t know right from wrong when you are through and you will have lost four years of your life listening to Leftist stooges lie like hell about your country and its people’s history.

Have to be careful with even the engineering and science stuff…..political science and social engineering would yield the same bad results.

One of my young relatives decided not to go to college, and I admit, I was a little relieved. He’s got so much good common sense, I’d hate to see that pounded out of him. Unfortunately the snowflakes are abusing their parents’ money to spend 4 years navel gazing about themselves. I partly blame it on too many self esteem activities in grades school and jr. high.

I agree 100% with this and feel, well, actually vindicated seeing it in black and white, uttered by somebody else. I gave this exact advice to my youngest daughter after she got her associates while still pondering the question of ” what do I want to be when I grow up?” My advice was heeded and after 2 years of books, she ventured into the real world and got her first “grown up” job. (Her words not mine. Her first job in a local convince store at 16 gave her an appreciation of money, lol. She liked it. She has never not worked since. She moved on up to a very competent, sweet, and knowledgeable sales associate at Penny’s all through college.)
She learned the ropes at a very busy Medical clinic and seeing her drive to know more and do things right, her professionalism, and her ability to work with the public had and still has me a proud and lucky momma. In the last 3 years, with no Bachelors or higher degree, she has married, changed clinics, bought a puppy, a home, adopted another dog, and is settling into married life very well. She will be 25 in October.
I agree that with some professions, it is not legal to practice without holding certain degrees. I pray for those whose dreams of attaining their goals through “higher education” have some solid core values and beliefs, and have had a decent amount of real history to stay out of the claws of the liberal government runamuk indoctrination campuses.
    Anyways, loved your article!
