File this under “What a shocker!”

This is going to be a real shocker, I know.

But Paris is hemorrhaging tourism cash big league.

I know!

What a shocker!!

According to Breitbart France’s Committee on Regional Tourism is reporting that in 2016 Paris suffered a loss of 1.3 billion Euros in tourist income.

Random terrorist attacks and routine violence from Islamists has that effect.

I mean. Just look at the tourism trade in Iraq.

Not good!

I visited Paris in 1999. For the longest time, if anyone asked me, “is there anywhere you’d live if you couldn’t live in America,” I would have answered Paris.

Yeah. Not anymore.

Not for all the crème brûlée in the world.

From Breitbart:

Some sights in particular “have suffered deeply from the lack of tourists and cancellations by school groups”, the committee says, including the Arc de triomphe which saw a 24 per cent drop in visitors.
The Louvre museum, which earlier this month was subject to an attack from a machete wielding man shouting “Allahu Akbar”, also saw a 13.3 per cent drop last year.
The fears have even hit Disneyland Paris, which saw a 9.5 per cent drop in foreign visitors.
This month has seen a series of disturbances in Paris’s suburbs, with one coachload of Korean tourists robbed when men climbed aboard their coach, shouting threats.

Europe permitting itself to be overrun by people who hate them comes with a hell of a lot of consequences.

The slaughter of their own people didn’t stop this madness.

Maybe the loss of tourism revenue will.

That sounds backwards and all kinds of crazy, I know. But just remember. Al Capone didn’t go to prison for murder, but for tax evasion.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” Martin Luther King.
I think Meryl Streep needs to see this!

I find it interesting that you were attracted to Paris. I had 2 roommates while stationed in NW Florida in 1967. They were just killing time until discharge, and had spent three years stationed in France, near Paris. They had nothing good to say about France or the French…but the wine was apparently to their liking. Perhaps your view was colored by different experiences, and you background in theater.
They were part of the “clean up ” team that was supposed to prepare U S airbases to turn over operation to the French Air Force. I say “clean up” in quotes , because anything that could not be airlifted out was either sledge hammered or bulldozed into dust.
As to the Muslim problem in Paris and France…they built their own destruction devices….now , hopefully we can use their example to NOT do the same.

I saw a video a while back taken along the streets of Paris, driving by gutters and sidewalks full of trash, mattresses and migrants. For that kind of tourism, I can go to Detroit.

Wow. Is there anything the influx of islamists won’t do?
    What’s the upside to this?
    Any silver lining?
