Gays as a fashion accessory & marketing tool
Fifty years ago, the modern gay rights movement began during a late-night raid of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. And a lot has changed in those fifty years.
Gay Pride went from being a part of the counter-culture to becoming part of the mainstream establishment.
Abbe Hoffman once said that he knew the Hippie movement was dead when the musical “Hair” opened on Broadway. It was no longer a counter-culture. It had become a marketing tool geared toward mainstream America.
The same thing has happened to Gay Pride.
Now Pride is about corporate sponsorships and craven political marketing ploys.
Corporations from banks to beer companies spend the month of June promoting rainbow-colored logos and products targeting gays as a market share – profits for pandering.
Politicians exploit Pride Month to virtue signal to gays while pretending they’re “down with the struggle.” But how much “struggle” is there really when corporations and politicians are slobbering all over you?
When you’re the center of that kind of marketing attention, you’re really not struggling too badly, you know?
You’d never see Liz Warren donning a miner’s hat and rushing to high-five West Virginia coal miners. She isn’t selling T-shirts on her website geared toward farmers.
Kirsten Gillibrand isn’t going to bars frequented by oil and gas workers to throw back a few while listening to Big and Rich. She isn’t selling campaign T-shirts that read “Energy Independence is BRAVE.”
But come Pride month, these politicians trip all over themselves to parade around with gays while wearing rainbow regalia (available for the low-low price of $30 on their campaign websites!).

You know what really takes “bravery,” Kirsten? Wearing a MAGA hat. But most gay pride parades won’t allow Gays for Trump to march with them. Did you know that, Kirsten?
Of course she doesn’t. For Kirsten, Liz and the rest, gays are a fashion accessory and marketing tool.
Sure, they might not all be gay like Mayor Pete (okay maybe Cory is). But by golly, gosh, they love the gays!!
Some of their best friends are gays!

Embracing gays makes them feel like they’re defying the establishment and standing up for the little guy.
But the problem is, Gay Pride is no longer part of the counter-culture. It is, in fact, part of the establishment.
When cities install “Gay Pride” crosswalks while hanging the rainbow flag at their official buildings, gays are no longer the little guy. When corporations gear entire marketing strategies to appeal to gays during Pride Month, gays are no longer the little guy.
But Democrats have a long history of hopping aboard a “movement” once that movement stops fighting against the current and becomes largely accepted.
Republicans advocated for Women’s Suffrage. Then, long after women gained the right to vote, Democrats suddenly championed women.
Republicans advocated for Civil Rights. Then, long after the Civil Rights Act was passed, Democrats suddenly cared about the civil rights of blacks. Until of course advancing civil rights for blacks got in the way of advancing abortion or illegal aliens.
Their embrace of movements is about political opportunism, nothing more.
And their embrace of gays doesn’t make them edgy or brave.
Sure, it might have fifty years ago when gays were arrested for, well, being gay. But it isn’t edgy or brave today.
I mean, whoop-dee-doo! Kirsten poses with a drag queen!! Which, again, might have been totally bold and brave if Kirsten ran for President back during the Stonewall riots.
But in an age when a popular television show is RuPaul’s Drag Race?
Yeah, not so much anymore.
The truth is, most people in America don’t care if someone is gay. Supporting gay rights in 2019 is about as courageous as coming out in support of microwave popcorn.
I think that’s why far-Left socialists have hijacked Pride month.
Being “out and proud” is no longer enough. Now you must be a card-carrying Leftist perfectly aligned with the ResistanceLOL. Now you must embrace socialism, Islamists … and sadly, the exploitation of children.

Two years ago, I wrote about the hijacking of Pride month. And the truth is, it’s only gotten worse.
Pride month is no longer about Gay Rights. Instead, it is nothing more than a Democrat Party political movement with a rainbow veneer.
Because that’s what Democrats do.
They coopt and exploit every “movement” for their political ends.
Meanwhile, as Kirsten, Liz, Cory and the rest prance around at Gay Pride events thinking that somehow makes them “allies,” the Trump Administration is working to stop countries from criminalizing homosexuality.
But because Pride has been hijacked as a political tool of the Democrat Party, nobody in the so-called LGBT “community” gives the hairy ass of a rat that we have a President who is fighting for gay rights.
The truth is, when I see these videos of the 2020 Democrats decked out in their rainbow regalia at Pride events, I roll my eyes.
It isn’t “brave.” It isn’t “bold.”
At best, gays are nothing but a marketing tool to raise money for their campaigns. At worse, gays are nothing but a fashion accessory — just like their rainbow boas, sunglasses, and Pride T-shirts — that Democrats throw on to look “edgy”.
It’s nothing more than shameless pandering and exploitation to advance their own political ends.

If not mistaken, the total of all homosexuals in America is a single digit percentage of the overall population. Go Dems! Just rack’n up those national popular votes.
Maybe next week, the illegal alien voters. No wait, they’re not citizens and can NOT vote at all. That’s still TRUE, right
Just thank God they can’t procreate.
If only the same could be said for the Democrat candidates.
When you have to label some gadget as “smart” (smart phone, smart car, smart gun, etc) then chances are it’s really not smart. Same can be said about a movement that has to convince itself to be proud. Gay pride tells me that deep down, these people know that they have nothing to be proud of, they’re just lying to themselves.
