Governor Grim Reaper

Governor Grim Reaper

There’s some doofus who is trolling the Florida beaches dressed as the Grim Reaper.  See, he thinks healthy people enjoying the great outdoors are a threat to grandma and grandpa.  So he wants to guilt them into staying home by dressing up as Death.

Ironic since Florida is not in any way, shape, manner or form the epicenter of the Wuhan pandemic.  In fact, Florida has done very well in maintaining an open economy while dealing with those most vulnerable.

So why doesn’t this doofus dress as the Grim Reaper and roam the halls of Albany? Seems like that would make a more meaningful statement than wandering around a state that is handing the virus much better.

I guess it’s more fun spending time on the Florida beaches than it is actually calling attention to those who have caused more death than necessary.

Besides, the doofus doesn’t need to haunt Albany.  Albany already has its own Grim Reaper.

Yes, well, it’s definitely going to happen if you force nursing homes to readmit COVID-positive patients.

It’s ironic how Governor Grim Reaper admits that the vulnerable are going to die no matter what we do.

Weren’t we all told that the reason we must stay home, lose our jobs, and lose our businesses was to keep the vulnerable safe?

But now that he’s on the hot seat over his deadly nursing home error, Governor Grim Reaper has changed his tune.

“Meh.  They’re gonna die anyway.”

I know this is an exercise in futility, but imagine if President Trump said that.

Chris Cuomo would be clutching his pearls and quivering in indignant rage.  No doubt Chris won’t say a word about it the next time Governor Grim Reaper is on his program yukking it up over how Mom likes him best.

Governor Death also doesn’t see the necessity of anyone being prosecuted for his deadly nursing home error.

Of course he doesn’t.

Nothing like the guy who causes untold damage then says, “Look.  It doesn’t matter who was wrong. Now isn’t the time for finger-pointing.”

Then again saying it isn’t the time for finger-pointing when the finger is pointing at him is an Andrew Cuomo speciality.

He is the King of Deflection and Blame-Shifting. Always has been.

But don’t expect the Trump-hating media that’s spent the last two months serving as fluffers for Governor Grim Reaper to say word one about this stunning admission that they’re going to die anyway.

David Marcus had a great column at the Federalist yesterday titled “Andrew Cuomo Reveals the Dangers of Praising ‘Tone’ and ‘Norms’” that nails the problem with Governor Grim Reaper, which is, in short, as Marcus writes, “Cuomo has not been an effective governor during this crisis, but he has played one on TV.”

From his column:

This reveals something interesting about the roles of tone and norms in politics and governance. Critics of Trump’s hyperbolic rhetorical style and willingness to say things that offend them seem to think that good tone and maintenance of norms by a politician indicates he is pursuing positive policies and in control of the situation, but this is often not the case. In fact, a polished tone more often elides failures than it symbolizes success.

Here’s an example. Would Barack Obama have ever called the press “the enemy of the American people”? Certainly not. But would his administration spy on journalists? Absolutely, and it did. Would Obama cackle about political opponents going to jail? Not a chance. Would his administration try to send political opponents to jail? Yup.

To put it bluntly, Cuomo has not been an effective governor during this crisis, but he has played one on TV. At least in terms of early public opinion, that was enough.

[C]overage of Cuomo has glowingly focused on his silky delivery and central casting tone. Of course he must have been doing all the right things; just listen to how eloquent he is. But he wasn’t, and the media missed that story even though deaths in New York were piling up every day more than anywhere else in the country.

Governor Grim Reaper is good at sounding earnest and caring.  But at the end of the day, his actions reveal just how insincere it all was.

Now that he’s being called to account for the more than five thousand nursing home deaths, the real Andrew Cuomo is peeking out behind the media-created façade. And all he has to offer is, “Meh, they’re gonna die anyway no matter what we do.

That is Governor Grim Reaper to a tee — willing to toss the old and vulnerable under the bus in order to absolve himself from any culpability for his own deadly decisions.

But hey, I hear those socks with his face printed all over them are selling like hotcakes.

Dianny, my heart goes out to you and any other sane people in New York. Especially saddened by what those trapped in nursing homes have to endure at the hands of this schmuck.

Meanwhile, things are great here in Georgia no matter what the (D) mayor of Atlanta and her media sycophants are trying to peddle.

It seems a far cry from “if it saves just one life”

When will the GlobalClimateWarmingChange LUNATICS get their headlines back? They want to save the WHOLE PLANET and suddenly a few hundred thousand old people dying is more important? Where’s the fairness? It’s almost as if there’s a cachet to that stupid virus. “Ooooo…did you hear Chauncey tested positive?” We are living in an al fresco lunatic asylum.
    God bless our President.

The Cuomoavirus has apparently infected the minds of many “I wanna be a Cuomo too” followers.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Andy said follow me, I’m going over Niagara Falls in a bubble.

You knew from the beginning this was all a hoax. Since when did democrats ever show any concern for human life? Putting infected people into nursing homes was a death sentence for elderly victims. They hate the old as much as they hate the unborn. Or,in New York’s case, the newly born.
