Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales

Jerry Brown better watch his back. Because another governor is gunning for the title “Most Incompetent Ever.”

Sadly, that governor is my own.

Last night Chris Cuomo’s stupider brother tweeted out this:

Failing schools, NYCHA, Rikers, what do they all have in common? They have mostly minority populations and they are all being abused.

I see my job as Governor to put my thumb on the scales for social justice.

When a governor happily admits that he eschews “equal justice under the law” there is something seriously wrong.

But there you go.

Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales.

It’s astounding to me that Cuomo sees nothing unjust about this.

“Social justice” is a fraud because Justice is supposed to blind.

Why are there more minorities in Rikers?

Well, because more crime is committed by minorities.

It isn’t rocket science, Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales.

Why are more minorities in failing schools?

Well, there are a couple reasons. Failing schools tend to be located Democrat-controlled areas where poverty and crime abound.

In addition to that, teachers unions have far too much power – thanks in large part to their generous contributions to said Democrat officials.

And teachers unions don’t give a crap about quality education. If they did, they would advocate for school choice and voucher programs allowing children sentenced to failing schools a chance to escape.

And then there’s the New York City Housing Authority – also a hotbed of Democrat-controlled machine politicians.

Race has nothing to do with it. Democrats do.

In fact, Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales has far more to do with the failures of state-run enterprises than anyone’s skin color.

But Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales doesn’t care about that.

Of course he doesn’t. In addition to fending off corruption charges, Andrew Cuomo is far too busy with the really important things – like implementing a ban on plastic grocery bags.

See, here’s what’s happening.

Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales is facing a primary challenge from the Left.

Like California, New York Democrats are becoming more and more socialist.

And Cuomo, as corrupt as he is, isn’t nearly as “progressive” as some New York Democrats would like.

So like any politician whose base is veering Left, Cuomo has to prove that he’s down with the struggle.

After all, as Governor Thumb-on-the-Scales just said the other day, “I believe when you go to the Pearly Gates and our Lord says, ‘Have you been a good progressive?’ He says, ‘Show me the list of what you got done.'”

I’m not sure how mentioning the Lord and Pearly Gates is going to win over New York Socialists.

But like I said, Andrew is even dumber than brother Chris.

It doesn’t say much for New York State that voters here would elect someone stupid enough to admit that he believes his job is to put his thumb on the scales.

The sad reality is, Cuomo will easily defeat his primary opponents.

And even worse, he will sail to reelection in November.

Because at the end of the day, New York, like California, is controlled by a Blue Vortex — a small area within a rather large state that nullifies the will of the people.

And that small area is perfectly happy with a governor whose thumb is on the scales.
