Great Again: Some thoughts on Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address

Like so many of you, I sat glued to my computer monitor watching Donald Trump’s Inauguration.

But what I refused to do was stick around and listen to the drama queens of cable news pick apart his Inaugural Address and turn it into something that it wasn’t.

Earth to the Enslaved Press: If you want divisive and ugly, replay Chuck Schumer’s endless droning.

After a couple of minutes, I couldn’t take anymore of Schumer. I hit the mute.

Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address was spot-on.

As a candidate for President, Mr. Trump made the focus of his campaign We the People.

And this Inaugural Address was all about us.

In fact, the one pronoun President Trump used more than any other was “We.”

And let’s face it. That is a refreshing change after Barack Obama.

President Trump laid down the gauntlet. And he made it abundantly clear that we are a government of, by and for the people.

Ignore the chattering hens of the Enslaved Press. Because this Inaugural Address was most certainly a message of unity.

The reason they think it wasn’t is because President Trump sought to unite us as one people — not an amalgamation of identity groups stitched together by the Leftists Label of “Diversity.”

He spoke to all of us as Americans — united under one nation and one flag.

And best of all, President Trump made it crystal-freaking clear that he intends to stand by his unwavering campaign pledge to make America great again.

He was forceful where needed.

Yet he was also both humble and respectful — respectful of our history, our military, our people and, yes, God.

There was no mealy-mouthed bromides about “crossing the aisle” or compromise.

It was down to earth, honest, straightforward, and fearless.

It was not, as the idiots in the Enslaved Press claim, “divisive” or “angry.”

What these pearl-clutching assholes mistook for “divisiveness” and “anger” was actually what we on Planet Earth call “strength” and “resolve.”

But I’m not surprised they don’t recognize strength and resolve.

After all, it has been sadly lacking from the President of the United States for eight years.

But what I liked best about President Trump’s Inaugural Address is that it was brief.

He didn’t overload it with flowery words and endless soaring rhetoric devoid of meaning or sincerity.

He said what he needed to say. And he did it perfectly.

And I am sure I wasn’t the only one cheering when he closed his speech.

Now, we got a little time. So let’s have a little fun.

Who else thinks this is the feel-good picture of the day:

I just knew we’d get a good shot of Hillary and Bill silently fuming.

Okay, call me mean. But that picture is so Schadenfreuderiffic, I want to have it framed.

By the way, Melania Trump looked fabulous, didn’t she?

She was a knock-out in that gorgeous blue coat.

It must have galled Michelle to have to stand next to an actual elegant, beautiful, fashionable First Lady.

Yeah. The comparison does not make her look at all good, does it?

Which, may be part of the reason the shrew sat scowling through the entire Inauguration.

Well, that and she’s lost her all-expense-paid vacations.

What an absolutely great day it is!

Onward and upward, my friends.

There’s a lot of work ahead of us.

But I have no doubt that we will Make America Great Again!

Michelle (Ma belle ) looks positively frikkin frumpy …with the entire fashion world groveling at her feet….that’s what she went With? So she could stand beside a world class Supermodel?
What the _______ was she thinking?

Oh my stars! I felt the EXACT same way! The media couldn’t stop bad-mouthing Trump! And what was the deal with the Obama send off? They held the camera on the darn helicopter for more than five minutes! And THEN, we had to hear…ONE MORE TIME…from his Excellency. I had to turn it off at that point. I’m sure it won’t be so, but I hope to NEVER have to see his face again!!!

Oh…and yeah…that shot of Hill and Bill is DEFINITELY worth framing. A keeper, indeed! (I’ve seen pictures of them at funerals that exhibited more animation than this one does. Priceless!!!)

it was such a study in contrasts….a 6’2″ water buffalo with size 15 feet next to a stunning lady wrapped in a Ralph Lauren sheath reminiscent of the late Jackie O.

I read your first-time primary voter post, and thought – “Good. Even given his political bent, he is an independent thinker who won’t fall for crap.” I was wrong.

And it’s not enough that you won – even though the candidate was not the candidate of your choice – you join the group that claims that America is in a state of rubble. You will do nothing to “unite” Americans. Even worse that you’re from New York State where, last I experienced, people weren’t led around by their balls.
