A very happy 2020 to all of you!

As has become a PatriotRetort.com tradition, for the fourth year now, my New Year’s post features the artwork of the talented Janet Burroff.  In late 2016, Janet posted a beautiful 2017 New Year’s image on Facebook and I begged her to let me feature it here. And so the tradition began.

You can see her other New Year contributions below.

Any old how.

Well, here we are in 2020.  Although with the election cycle getting underway almost a year ago, I feel as though we’ve been living and breathing 2020 since the beginning of 2019.

Which, when you think about it, isn’t as bad as Kamala Harris who’s been living and breathing 2020 since she decided to run for the Senate in 2015.

Ah, well. Sucks to be her.

Around here, 2019 decided to go out with a little bit of bang.  Yesterday afternoon, I was sitting here at my desk when a bright flash of light lit up the room.  At first I couldn’t figure out what the heck it was.  And before I could noodle it out, there was a loud clap of thunder.

Now, thunder and lightning are exceedingly rare in December here in Central New York.  Maybe once every few years we’ll get a thundersnow. But it’s not at all common. So I went to the backdoor to watch this rare event. But it wasn’t snow. It was hail.

Lots and lots of hail — raining down in clattering sheets.

I have to say, it was quite a sight.  The hailstorm lasted for only a minute or two.  Then the snow came.

I figured the heavens were celebrating 2020 a wee bit early.

This year will be eventful, no doubt.

Presidential election years are always fairly action-packed. And given the hysterics and derangement of the Left, I don’t see that letting up anytime soon — especially as we get closer to November.

Then again, what year isn’t eventful?

But as this is just the beginning, permit me to wish you and yours a very Happy New Year.

May our 20s be roaring.

On a side note, I want to thank everyone who donated during PatriotRetort.com’s End of Year Fundraiser.

I am happy to report that because of your generosity, I will be able to pay the lump sum due for this year’s web hosting.  What a great way to start the New Year!  I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your support.

Happy 2020 everybody!
