Hit the bricks

I mentioned on Saturday that Melissa Harris-Perry decided to boycott her own show in order to force MSNBC into a corner.

How’d that work out?

Yeah.

They canned her ass.

She didn’t want MSNBC treating her like a “token, mammy, or little brown bobble-head,” and in return, MSNBC told her to take her corn rows, her grievance-mongering and her tampon earrings and hit the bricks.

Schadenfreude can be so, well, schadenfreudy.

Sorry to say it, Melissa. But apparently MSNBC decided to call your bluff. I hate when that happens.

Melissa thought that by taking a stand and staging a walk-out, she’d so shame MSNBC that they’d be begging for her to come back.

Something tells me if Melissa Harris-Perry had been on that bus instead of Rosa Parks, the bus driver would have pulled over to the side of the road and tossed her out the window.

It isn’t exactly the remake of “Norma Rae,” now is it?

I have to say, I’m impressed that MSNBC didn’t let the low-rated Harris-Perry get her way. Besides which, I find it all manner of entertaining that her big BOYCOTT ended, not with a bang, but with a pink slip.
