How cool is this? My brother made me a PatriotRetort.com shingle!

Okay, so my brother is an amazing woodworker. He makes all kinds of things.

I have four Russell Original custom frames in my home. And they’re really gorgeous.

In fact, one of the frames he made for me was out of old weathered fence panels from my backyard.

Isn’t that cool?

That’s an old class picture of our Dad Jim Russell back when he was fourteen or fifteen years old.

So to match the vintage look of the photo, I wanted Mark to make me a frame that was weathered and vintage itself.

It really is gorgeous. And heavy.

But how cool is this? Mark made me my very own shingle.

You know. It’s like those old fashioned shingles you used to see outside doctors’ offices and the like.

Isn’t that cool?

I don’t know if you can tell from the picture, but the flag (like the lettering) is actually carved into the wood so that the stars and the white of the flag are raised.

Now, you’ll have to forgive me for bragging on my brother.

But he really is talented.

And even though this is nearly two months late, I love my birthday present!
