Ignore the Roseanne distraction

Roseanne Distraction

In the interests of full disclosure, I never liked Roseanne. I have a quick trigger finger, and when someone makes a mockery of the National Anthem, I’m done with her.

I never liked her show when it was on originally. And that’s because I took the portrayal of working class folks as a mockery of them.

I always interpreted it as: Look at those people in flyover country who carry a lunch pail to work and eat fried food. They’re fat and they’re dumb and they’re loud. Let’s all make fun of the way they live.

Now, I admit, that’s me. But because that was how I responded to the show, I didn’t like it.

So when ABC announced its reboot, I rolled my eyes and thought, “Hollywood is so damn unoriginal they have to drag this show out of mothballs.”

And I could never shake the impression that Roseanne was exploiting Trump supporters for ratings.

Which, if she did, it was a smart move on her part. Because Trump supporters drove up the ratings.

Now I don’t look to television to validate my existence.

In fact, I don’t look to television for anything. I canceled my cable in 2013 and my TV is used only for watching DVDs.

And since I’m going for full disclosure here, I didn’t see the tweet at first because Roseanne blocked me from Twitter more than a year ago. I don’t know why. I don’t think I ever tweeted at her. Though I suppose I might have retweeted something in which she was mentioned. But to be honest with you, I have no idea what prompted it.

But this kerfuffle over Roseanne tweeting a mean joke about Valerie Jarrett is so out of proportion with the so-called crime, it makes me suspicious on two counts.

First, I don’t think ABC was very pleased with the fact that Trump voters responded so favorably to the “Roseanne” reboot.

After all, they are the network that canceled the popular show “Last Man Standing.”

Perhaps ABC had expected the new “Roseanne” to bomb. And when it didn’t, they were boxed in.

Who in the entertainment industry wants to be known for having a show that’s wildly popular with the very viewers they hate?

My guess is ABC was desperate for a way to cancel the show.

And then Roseanne – in a supposed Ambien haze – handed them the perfect excuse on a silver platter.

How else do you explain how quickly the network dropped the axe?

But the other thing that makes me suspicious has more to do with the faux outrage we are seeing in the media over a stupid tweet.

They’re going wall-to-wall screaming about Roseanne and her “racist tweetstorm.”

Is it a tweetstorm if it’s only one tweet?

That’s like saying “I’m going to sing a medley,” then only singing one song.

It’s more of a “tweet-drop” than a storm.

But ever since Roseanne tweeted, deleted and apologized for that tweet, the media has been at DEFCON 1.

As if Hollywood people never tweeted something mean or stupid before.

Have they never read through Rosie O’Donnell’s tweets?

Remember, the news media, like most Leftists, suffer from “projection.” They always accuse the other side of the very thing they are doing.

Take the news media’s constant accusation that every presidential action Mr. Trump takes is a “distraction” from Stormy Daniels or the Mueller Investigation.

That’s a perfect example of “projection.”

Because if anyone knows about distractions, it’s the news media.

And this Roseanne kerfuffle is a distraction.

It’s octopus ink the news media is furiously squirting to muddy the water.

It’s cover fire to hide something else.

And if I had to guess, I’d say the thing they’re desperate to hide is SpyGate.

Don’t get distracted by nonsensical stories like Roseanne’s tweet.

Ignore the noise.

Don’t feed the beast.

Roseanne’s stupid tweet has given the media an opportunity to attack Trump supporters.

More importantly, it’s given them an opportunity portray Valerie Jarrett — that vile, treasonous woman – as a sympathetic character.

And the haste with which they dragged her out of hiding to play the victim and attack Donald Trump for somehow being to blame for Roseanne’s tweet is all too convenient. Almost as if they need to preemptively soften ValJar’s public image. I wonder why.

When the media is losing a battle against Trump, they always go back to the Racist card.

They’re losing the fight on the SpyGate narrative and are desperate to shift focus.

Frankly, howling on Twitter while loading your tweets with #IStandWithRoseanne and #BoycottABC only give the news media added cover to hide what is the single biggest political scandal in history.

Media outrages like this need oxygen to survive. So why would you give them more oxygen? Deprive them of it. Don’t get sucked in. And don’t let them distract you.

Why would you help them?

Ignore the noise.

Ignore the distractions.

And for heaven’s sake, keep your focus on the Swamp.

Wow. Is there a reason you’re being a prick to commenters? CC has been a commenter here for quite some time. I can assure you she would never applaud that psycho hag Rosie O’Donnell. Have a cup of coffee. Do a few deep breathing exercises. And try not to be a prick.

The media thinks they can cover up the Spygate issue, but they fail to notice that millions get their news from Internet blogs and websites. The media is dead.

When did Valarie Jarret become so untouchable, well I guess she is Obama’s brain, maybe that can be one of the shows Obama can create for Netfix, Obama and the Brain. I can hear the theme song now.

I never watched nor cared foe Rosanne because I think she’s a disgusting pig. That said, after her National Anthem stupidity she became completely persona non gratia in the Hoagie house. Then when she was put back on TV and all the chatter started about how she ids “pro Trump” I was waiting for something to “show” how bad it is in the eyes of the leftist elites to be pro Trump. I didn’t have to wait long. There are tens on millions of decent Trump supporters. I don’t care about Roseanne.

I too refrain from TV indoctrination, but noticed over on the youtube that the shirtless guy thinks Roseanne’s “burning at the stake” could be related to Roseanne’s criticism of SOROS (and he wasn’t the only one who noticed that particular coincidence) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8vj1XKIKks&t

well, time for the Roseanne, I mean White House press briefing

First, I thought by a court ruling made recently it was ‘illegal’ to block people from your twitter account???????? Hmmmm must be for conservatives against liberals only.

You said: “Now I don’t look to television to validate my existence.”

Welcome to paradise. I disconnected from the daily excrement that is broadcast TV about 10 years ago. At the time I was just too busy to be bothered with what I saw as being trendy nonsense. Little did I know at the time I was saving my soul from corruption.

Roseanne is a character played to the hilt by Roseanne. I have never given her any more respect than I would a cartoon character. Sitcoms and not supposed to be morally relative. They can seem to be but that is an illusion. Once you accept that these shows are ‘Make Believe’ (including ‘West Wing, Madam Secretary’ and any other moralistic production) you then can leave them at the curb without any regret.

On the opposite side of the page, Liberals look to ‘television’ for validation of their belief system. This is why Obama, the sitcom president, was beloved.

It was not who he actually was in real life that they loved. That character is a dope smoking massive enigma who keeps his personal life so secret that no one even remembers him actually attending Columbia as a student. All of Obama’s negatives were carefully hidden.

It was the character he played in the MSM show that ran 8 years; a.k.a. his administration that the liberal faithful tuned into week after week slobbering all over their TVs.

    Tragically (for the liberal masses);
The election in 2016 cancelled the Obama show and the expected spin off ‘The Hillary show’.

You know how upset people get when their favorite show gets cancelled???

Reality is that many people look to TV to feel good about themselves if only for a week or so until the next episode. Shallow minded and insulated in their own world these people think that they are worldly wise when in fact they intentionally ignore the reality right outside their door.

Why Roseanne tweeted what she did is open to speculation. I tend to believe it is a strategy to get the show cancelled so it can be picked up by Fox. I am sure the outrageous success that the reboot has garnered put the ABC producers in a bind because the show was resonating with conservative audience members and Lord knows, Conservatives are bad……

In any event Dianny you are spot on with the notion that this is a smoke screen…..

I have said it before, always watch both hands of a magician because if you only watch the one he wants you to see, you will be fooled…….
